The Stones back in the day when Jagger was trying to convince people he was a working class cockney.
They were influenced by black American blues singers and you can tell.
And how the fans reacted in the early days was nutz I’ve seen videos of the stones exchanging punches with fans to defend themselves

I don’t have a copy of Yesterday and Today but I’m familiar with the album though it was never released in the Uk , it was a United States & Canada only release back in June 66 , the original album cover known as the butcher cover caused some controversy on it’s initial release & was immediately recalled by Capitol records but some initial copies were sold on the day of release . Most copies recalled were then repasted with the trunk cover and sold , if anyone has a copy of the original with butcher cover it is very collectible .
Yes at the time I think the dude was asking 300 bucks probably less. I should have got it just being the Beatle nut I am but when I went back he had sold it. I later found value is all over the place with these things depending on the printing

Been listening to this every Sunday now. It’s not that I wish I was older but Jerry’s voice in 78 was so sweet I wish I could have seen him then. I also like mozart though so there is that issue as well

Agreed, great period to see the Grateful Dead. I was in college in Rochester, NY mid-'70s to 1980. Some great spring tours in the East during those years. You might want to try this concert on for size, May 8, 1977 at Cornell University, which I was fortunate enough to attend. Great show, great memories of Jerry and the boys, and Donna, of course.

Another one of those performances that makes me walk away from my guitar for a month. Stephen Stills was/is amazing, apparently he and Hendrix were buddies back in the day.
