Just a passing thought here and no disrespect to The Beach Boys meant but perhaps this is one reason they flew a little under the stones and Beatles etc. wouldn’t it be nice is a great song but it can be very easy to listen to it as a “happy song” and have no clue how Brian put his soul into the song and would drive himself crazy to get every note perfect. Many probably don’t appreciate that side of him. But it is music and it’s always subjective I hope Brian is doing OK I saw some pictures and a video that was fortunately removed from YouTube he seems to be struggling a bit but we are at a point where most of my favorite musicians are hitting their 80’s.

I think Brian has been diagnosed with schizoiaffective disorder, where the symptoms are a combination of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. They always said he heard exactly what he wanted in his head; I wonder if there’s a connection.

And didn't Mozart say something like 'writing music is easy. All you do is write what you hear in your head' and 'I compose everyhting before I write it down'.

At such a sad time for many of us I found this so beautiful in the way it captures so much of Scotland, a country her majesty truly loved.

Supposedly, Gregg was the "red-headed friend" that Jackson sang about.

Maybe it was Duane, things are a bit fuzzy from those days.

God they were great together. You can see the mutual respect and friendship. Jackson was 18 when he wrote that song (I think I read that) pretty amazing a lot of wisdom thrown about.

Country is not my typical "go to" genre, but I really like Eilen Jewell...

Virtuoso bass guitarist Max Bennett shows you how the bass is supposed to be played. Amazing how bass-dominant this song is without the singing:
