Guitar intro sampled by GOYTE - Somebody I use to know
Luiz Floriano Bonfá (17 October 1922 - 12 January 2001) was a Brazilian guitarist and composer. He was best known for the compositions he penned for the film Black Orpheus..
As a composer and performer, Bonfá was at heart an exponent of the bold, lyrical, lushly orchestrated, and emotionally charged samba-canção style that predated the arrival of João Gilberto's more refined and subdued bossa nova style.
Pretty cool a not often cover a a Beatles song. We always tried to do a “she said, she said” or “savoy truffle” just cause you didn’t hear them live often. Tbh we never got them to sound that good but it was a lot of fun to try. Maybe one day I’ll grow the nerve to put up one of the covers we did. I found a couple that were transferred to CD and even some originals that I know no one would enjoy.
Thank god for music, both listening and picking the old banjo
Heard about this guy and this anthology on NPR’s “Fresh Air”. Moody Rock. Dark lyrics, atmospheric guitar.. Chris Issak, Calexico etc must have listened to this guy. So weird and cool.
