And to start the evenings musical entertainment, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac debut album in mono from February 68 . A mix of blues covers and original songs written by Peter Green & Jeremy Spencer , it reached No4 in the uk charts but never had a hit single from it .

I like their song from back then called "Oh Well".

Here is a live version of it.

If you like “Oh Well “ I cant recommend this album highly enough . It was given to me by a relative a few years back and got me in early Fleetwood Mac , just wished I’d heard it earlier on my musical journey.

Another angle on the early Fleetwood Mac years is following what Christine McVie (nee Perfect) was up to prior to joining Fleetwood Mac in 1970.
For a short while, she was in the group Chicken Shack.

I've always loved her voice and keyboard playing.

Here is Chicken Shack's song "I'd Rather Go Blind" (a song made famous by Etta James in 1968).

Just my opinion: if you have to own just one Who record, it's "Who´s next" . A gem

Some pubs have been open in England from 06:00am today..... another small step towards normal … and a party (but no loud music allowed for now)… despite the Euro feel to this track - Fenech-Soler are from Kings Cliffe, Northamptonshire - proper pubs there...

The Dexys created a new musical genre: Soul-Punk

I found out the other day that Roger Taylor (Duran Duran) turned down Dexys…. Birmingham as a town may not have the best accent ...but they have done well on the talent front.... UB40, ELO, Black Sabbath, Band of joy = Led Zeppelin, Dexys, Duran Duran......

I think he would have played in the much better band with the Dexys, but a matter of taste.
By the way, I just remembered that not only the drummer of Duran Duran, but also that of Queen was called Roger Taylor.
And I didn't know the "Band of Joy" you mentioned, but I do have an album from the "Band of Holy Joy"

Dance Music 😀
We had no techno, no house in the 80s - but great rock songs for our ecstasy!
