Avoid laiphroig then lol. I’m guessing you had alligator or the 10 then. They have some sherry cask stuff that I love. Who am I kidding I love all but some of the special edition (committee release) Ardbegs.
What do you all think about some of those Japanese mid level bourbons? I was thinking of adding a bottle to the collection. Some get great reviews.
Hibiki 12/17 y/o are my favorites. Hibiki 21 is an excellent blend but outside the mid level range. I found the Hakushu (both 12 and 18 y/o) a bit rough. I had the opportunity to visit the Suntory distillery a few years ago..
@alam thanks, I’ll give one a try. I have a local distillery near me that imports the barrels from Japan, but I’m going to try the real deal. I’ll keep an eye out for the 21.
A favourite of mine. Quilceda Creek’s CVR - such a great value given what their Cabs go for. Washington State is making some incredible wine.
Canceled second weekend in a row sailing race and cookout. I present the Tom Skilling in honor of the forecast that triggered the Commodore (me) decision today. And gratuitous watch pic. This drink rocks! 2 Mezcal 2 Pink Grapefruit Juice 1/2 Grand Marnier Dash Chipotle Powder Lime slice Thank goodness we had a killer day on Thursday!
I worked today, my Saturday, but I got two nice contracts. I’m having a bourbon and a nice Cohiba. I’ve got to light up outside or the wife will kill me though.
Loved the taste but the burn on the finish was intense...to be expected at that proof. I added a few cap fulls of water and let it sit for 5 minutes and it was perfect for me after that. What did you think?
