I have always wondered if these folks use a Sharpie when re- lettering the dials. ::facepalm1::

I just came here to post the same. You might get a case and bracelet out of it but it made me want to cry.

Well it probably was never a super expensive watch, but I really like the style of font that you on the left side of the dial. It reminds me a bit of an Omega 6B. I can't quite place the reason, but something looks slightly different on the right side. Redial maybe ?

the sad part is to think that someone really needed these numbers written on the dial, just in case they forgot which one was supposed to go where and mixed them up...

After seeing all that now i'll probably think twice before sending my watches for dial restoration.

Watches Of Knightsbridge auctioneers should know better than to list this outrage as an "excellent dial" without further comment.

Someone paid over $5000 for this! They don't realize how much the correct dial and hands will affect the value of this category of a vintage wristwatch! If it was a few hundred dollar Omega, maybe properly refinishing of the dial could actually add value BUT a Railmaster with even a correctly refinished or worse what you see in the photo could lose half its value!
