My apologies: should've added a picture. No other shots, but still. I don't track Ed Whites closely, but this seems like a hell of a good deal. And: the scuff is on the crystal, not the dial.

7150€ including premium

bezel is a bit rough, lume is gone on the minute hand

Isn't the case more looking like a -64???

I don't know enough to say; the serial's listed as 24959773, which was what I based the presumption on.

Nice description "A gentlemen's steel wristwatch with chronograph, by Omega".
No wonder it went under the radar.

Not sure this is a relume... 105.003-65's are commonly known for having 'wobbly lume' as for instance @Spacefruit called it. I do happily admit that the 10-index raises questions.

That said, hard to judge based on just one picture. Looking at the rest of the state of this one (missing lume in hand, original flatfoot crown, made-to-fit 633's with 1171 bracelet) it certainly is not recently 'doctored' or done up for sale. It even seems to come with complimentary wrist cheese.

It's a stretch to call this a diamond in the rough, but it could certainly make for a very nice beater at a very decent price.

By the way; I was the one who took the plunge, after having looked at a few more - admittedly poor - pictures. My own pictures follow shortly. 😀

I have too much watches and sales are slow so I could not convince myself to bid 6k. Think that you have a nice buy at 5,5!

I had additional pics as well 😉

Relume would be my guess. and not a dealbreaker at all ( if it bothers you, have it re done with waterbased tritium from Bergeon..... and match the hands a shade darker ) .....easy to rectify. kind regards. achim

Concerning the lume, or relume, I'll share an update as soon as I have the watch in hand.

I do hope the wobbly lume is the result of a commonly found issue as Speedmaster101 describes and pictures. If it turns out to be a relume, it would still not bother me much as the dial seems very nice.

My bet not relumed. Case looks maybe unpolished. Great deal imo. Keep us posted once in hand.

Agreed on this—I think the photo was poor enough to obscure what sure seemed to me like an entirely original, unpolished, honestly worn beauty. Excited to see better shots when you get them, @Aludic.

Well it seems I am fast becoming the new Joop Zoetemelk. Second time this week I was the underbidder. Both poorly described at small auctions. Annoying....

You only have to win the Tour de France once... 😁 With other words, better luck next time!

All right. Time for a short update after having picked the watch up today. Spoiler; there's a lot (and I mean a lot!) of wrist cheese involved in this one.

No glamours packaging or huge box with magnifying glasses and whatever else have you... no, this is just the essentials.

And some overall shots, showing an honest, clearly worn and certainly not recently polished case.

It goes to show that the bottom pusher seems larger than the top one. Which is easily confirmed.

Versus:

Another - more unexpected - surprise followed when I tried to remove the bracelet (an 1171 with modified 633 end links); both push pins were completely rusted shut. Nothing that some dentistry skills (thanks to the GF! 😀 ) couldn't fix...

(Yes, with regret I do have to confess that an already molested 633 end link did get hurt in the process).

Now, I am off to search for that one missing press-in pusher (4,5mm) to complete this Ed White with. More to follow.
