People can indulge in wishful thinking all they like, but it's inevitable that circumstances, e.g. a 20 per cent drop in UK GDP in April, are going to take some people out of the market.

(edited to remove question mark)

Tell us the auction site name and next time they'll go for more.

I haven't seen any weakness in top examples of vi rage watches. Mediocre examples continue to be very weak

Given that no one can actually figure out where these Ed Whites were listed I am guessing the results are down to this being an obscure auction house.. And I agree someone probably scored a tremendous bargain

It’s been said a few times in other “bubble bursting” threads and didn’t dawn on me until explained and illustrated- condition, condition, condition. The better ones are going up, middle to poor ones are going down. Neither of these are great.

Aren´t the srial## pretty high for both, especially the first one? 26 mio seems out of the 105.003-65 range... (going by Williams number chart)

The leather straps look kind of worn. That probably knocked 5-10k off the price right there.

It is in range according to MWO, just. It would have to be a very late one, made circa 1968 but the last EWs were apparently delivered in 1969 so its not impossible.

Looking at the website link above, I am not convinced those actually sold. The lack of bids may have meant the auction house bought them into stock. It looks like they are taking after sale bids.

I think that might be the case. I managed to put one into my "shopping cart" but could not figure out what should happen next. I deleted it from the cart in case someone really wants it.

They were sold. Lots not sold are marked as such.

Ed White is the Speedy reference I have most requests for at the moment, and hardly any real good ones to be found to fulfill my clients’ request.
However, there are plenty of sub-par ones around. No shortage there..

I can tell you that just last week I sold a near NOS Ed White for a price that would make your eyes water.

So yeah. Demand is high.

It says after sale until July 06. Doesn't appear to be sold. Wierd process.

But your thread is interesting as it expands the hunting ground. There are so many auction houses. Good reminder to not settle for a watch just because it's hard to find.

Any pictures? I don't mind crying over a beautiful vintage.

It sold so quick I didn’t even have time to photograph it properly, but my client is local and I already told him I will need to borrow it back to be photographed.
This is truly a reference point example.

This is the thing- lots of beaters, so if you want a rough rider to knock around town, there are plenty to be had- but the owners think they have a gold-mine- they need to wake up.
