Hi I am thinking to which Spedmaster the value will increase over the time. I am thinking to that because i remember that many years ago i wanted to buy a Speedmaster Snoopy Edition for about 3000-4000 Euro ( I did not have the money at that moment) and now i seen that Snoopy it's a rarity which sell for more than 10K.. Regards
That is the only Omega I would consider to buy over MSRP. Omega as a brand does not hold their value like Rolex, AP or PP.
Same here. Prices have been rising steadily since they were discontinued. So unless Omega releases something similar, I think it will continue to rise. Won’t reach stupid prices like some of the Speedy Tuesdays or Snoopy’s, but I expect it might be the only watch I ever make a profit on when I sell it down the line — if I sell it!
The ones that future people will lust after combined with the law of supply and demand at that future point in time. So best to just buy what you like without the speculation of future desirability.
Premoon and Ed White those 145’s and 105’s lol. Speedy Tuesday’s and Alaska Project too?! Does it really matter? To me it does because I would buy it ASAP for myself before they are any higher. Nobody can time the market though.
Those that bought ST#1 and #2 anywhere close to retail have done quite well, along with the three Snoopys, and the new 321 Ed White. But since Omega has no more real limited edition pieces anymore it will be difficult to get any sort of sure fire piece that has a chance of increasing in value going forward. Just buy what you like and hopefully the future market will be kind to you.
The Apollo 11 35th panda has gone up a lot too. They will probably hit $50k within 5 years. I'm not at all biased just because I own one.
Push those thoughts from your mind. It’s always a bad choice to buy any item as an investment, buy what you enjoy. If you are planning to invest in something in my opinion invest first in your own development such as further and advanced education which will have a very long term return.
Bearing in mind we have seen a massive asset bubble which is now deflating, there is a realistic chance no single Omega at all will be worth more in the short to medium term than it is right now since prices have gotten so frothy. Sobering but quite possible. Prices for hot in demand watches are on the slide everywhere, with big falls in Rolex AP etc. If you are obsessed with future values, now is the time to be selling not buying. If you can find a buyer.
