Which Omega for a Wedding Gift?

Would have to vote for the Aqua Terra.

Perhaps the Master Co-Axial with black dial.

Not sure what type of wedding this will be but the AT on the bracelet will fit in anywhere.

If it is a more formal affair (black tie) you can easily have a black gator strap installed prior to gifting.

I would also go with a speedy pro, but manual wind watches are not for everyone. This however is an automatic and is under 7K if you buy smart.

Looks great on the bracelet and straps as well.

There is this as well. Definitely dressier and comes in a few different dial colors. Also significantly cheaper.

I know its well below your price point, but I had this watch and it was really a wonderful multi-purpose watch. I will acquire one again some day. It looks like Longines changed the strap, not sure it is is now rubber? It also comes in a HUGE box.

Wow that Longine is pretty cool! I'm quite alright with something cheaper too as long as it ticks right boxes. Well anything is an upgrade from a Fossil right?
Touché, my man... Touché 😁

Well... I'd love to be gifted a Montblanc Chronometrie, for instance. If you give away a Speedmaster Auto, the receipient will, at some point, stand at a watchmaker at service time screaming "HOW MUCH!?!" 😉

Haha that is very true. A Time Walker is a great looking watch too.

Having said that, my Reverso is most definitely and will always be used as a dress watch. The other side happens to be another face. Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Duoface FTW.

True statement about the Reverso. I didn't think about the whole "polo" aspect of it.

And okay, that gives us more leverage to offer suggestions. There's nothing wrong with an automatic Speedy either. Racing or reduced? Two separate animals.

No clue. I'm not well versed in all things Speedy. I know I personally plan to get a Speedy Pro Moonwatch eventually but never considered the other versions really. Auto is slightly reduced right?

But his watch kept relative time, which has much larger variances than cosc or metas.

Exactly @Nobel Prize !

In Einstein's Theory of Relativity of Spacetime , Time is Relative so is cosc or metas , the only thing that is constant is The Speed of Light.....!
So Einstein knew mechanical watches are to be enjoyed , he wasn't bothered about their accuracy....!!! That's truly inspirational to me.

Personally would not give recommendations, but when people tell me they are buying from me to give to someone who is getting married, they always end up with a Speedy Pro

Einstein bought 7 sets of the same cloths to not waste brain matter on choosing what to wear each day.
Say he was a one watch guy 😉

Is that so they can time the duration of the wedding? 😁

I vote Aqua Terra - those with white dial and blued steel hands. Incredibly elegant and also works as sporty.
You don't want something just to be worn at the wedding, it should work as an everyday watch too....

I would go Seamaster 300 in steel. Right at your price point, automatic, and the most advanced Omega out there right now. And yes, sport watch or no, it can be worn for a wedding or any other formal occasion. (I got married last summer wearing black tie and my Rolex Submariner, so a sport watch works great.)

If he's even a little bit of a watch guy... and this will be his 'one watch' (that is harder to type than you can ever imagine)... Then I would definitely go Aqua Terra Master Co-axial... And would go Blue... It is the ultimate Sporty/dressy/casual 'one watch that does it all'....

Plus, even if he's not a 'Watch guy' maybe he'd get a little kick out of knowing that he's wearing James Bond's watch... Skyfall 39mm...Spectre 41mm (his size would dictate case size) ... plus, even a non watch guy would find it impossible not to find this model incredibly beautiful...

Then Again, you know him better than any of us.. you know his style... does he even wear a watch? If he's a total 'non-watch' guy, then you may not want to push this.

You can't force your passions onto him... I tried buying a watch for my Mother once.... but she's one of those 'Special occasion only' gals...so it is a safe queen..

A waste... that watch deserved to be worn, and she probably would have gotten a lot more use out of something far less expensive...truthfully she may have long since flipped it for cash...🤔

If this gift is not going to be appreciated on the level that you would want... you may be setting yourself up for a negative outcome, and you really don't want to feel resentment every time he shows up for dinner wearing an apple-watch...

Yea he wears a watch now, so I'm sure he'd appreciate it. It has more of a classic look to it. Aqua terra is pretty nice actually. Aqua terra 300m and speedys all great choices.

Let's not compare Steve Jobs to Einstein.
