Hi all, really pleased to see this discussion on here having just bought a 1995 Speedmaster automatic this weekend. mine is a 175.0043 1155 Cal. black dial with silver subs and in my opinion is a fantastic looking watch. I am relatively new to collecting Omega's and this is by far the most expensive purchase I have made to date. My collecting started when I was given my Grandads 60's Omega Seamaster a few years ago which I had to restore due to a blackened and tarnished dial. This fuelled my interest in watches and I now have a dozen Seiko 6138/6139 chronos and 4 Omegas including my Seamaster, a beautiful and wholly original 1959 steel Constellation, (my first post) a recently acquired Cosmic and my latest addition which is pictured. I went to a recent watch fair with the intention of maybe buying a watch having saved for a long while now. I went with an open mind not having decided on a particular model and chose this watch purely on style and what caught my eye. It's a watch that I liked immediately and I am very excited to own and wear. I usually like to research things closely once I have decided on a particular model and take my time, but sometimes you've got to go with your gut. I am a little bit disappointed in the lack of interest in this particular model and like most, I hope it holds it's value well in future years, but the lack of interest hasn't taken the shine away from it at all. Wether it's worthy of the 'Speedmaster' tag or not, I am extremely pleased with my choice and think its a beautiful Omega Automatic watch that looks amazing for 19 years of age.

I think if the watch came from Omega and they saw fit to stick the word on the dial then it IS an Omega Speedmaster. Just 'cos we aren't all fixated on the Mk1....

Here's a slight confession: I've tried on separate occasions to grow the love for the Schumacher Reduced Speedmasters: oh I tried, how I tried. The overall case size I could not get used to. Mea culpa and all that.
But I do like a busy chrono dial so I really want to like the Speedmaster Triple Date. Really want to. Plus I'm a big fan of the 7750 movement & variants.
About 7 years ago I picked this up. It was billed as an ETA apprentice piece and the price was irresistible. I'm still using it to confirm that a Triple Date would be a good choice for me.

I already own a Rolex Explorer II so the Speedmaster triple date was intriguing to me because as an automatic it rivalled a digital watch in terms of all the functions it could pack in. I have not been been disappointed as this watch gets more wrist time than Explorer II. When I travel, I use a G- Shock and Smart phone to keep track of multiple time zones. My only misgiving is tougher to read smaller dial labels as my eyes age, but everything I need is all there including a stop watch. The only feature I don’t use is the Tachymeter on the bevel. What’s not to like if you like Swiss army knife for it features!

One of these was my first Omega ever. Can you guess which one? :-D

I don't wear it as much any more (in fact, almost not at all) as I have physically outgrown the watch. I am hoping to hand it down to my baby girl some day.

My guess is the one on the right.

I had a friend that was very proud of owning one of these. I really like the look in person. Even though it is busy, I can still read the time easily.
