Where to buy my first new Omega Speedmaster

Hi all,

Last year my father handed me my great-grandfather's gorgeous Silver and Gold circa '65 Seamaster.
Ever since I've fallen in love with Omega pieces and have decided that, after much obsessing, I will buy my first Speedmaster (New).

It so happens that I'll likely be transferred (through work) from Melbourne, Australia, to London in the next three months.
Since I can't wait much longer and funds permit, this might be a rare opportunity to snag a duty-free bargain.

I've seen forums like this posted before but I thought I'd try and get people's fresh takes on where I ought to try and stopover.
Options look like Dubai, Bangkok, Delhi and Changi.

I've also floated the idea to my girlfriend of a few nights in another location (fairly open ended idea but less likely).

So, hoping for your thoughts:
In transit duty free- where are the best airports, and are they willing to barter?
OR
(In the unlikely case that I can pull this off) Where should I be opting for the overnight/several day stopover if watch bargains are to be had?

Also, how rude of me not to include a picture of the aforementioned watch.

Would love some help finding its reference at some point too...

For sure you can get them in Dubai duty free and the UAE dirham is pegged to the US dollar at 3.67. I think you’d make out better doing that as opposed to buying in the U.K. where your currency isn’t as strong. It’s hard to compete with grey market though and if you insist on new (and since you’re planning on buying in an airport) at least check out some grey market options that might be 30% less than retail sticker.
