Recently I went to my local AD to browse. With the intention of purchasing either a 1861 or 1863 moonwatch with the big box. Both were in stock. I ended up leaving with something completely different. I tried on the moonwatch. Maybe my expectations were raised due to the near mythical status of the Speedy pro. But as much as I love the look of it in photos. On wrist it just felt ok. I looked over the vintage seamaster 300 and 41mm Aqua Terras. Then I saw a watch I'd never seen in person. In the case was an unsold 2016 titanium 38.5mm Aqua Terra Goodplanet Edition. And it was discounted for clearance at 35% off. After trying it on, I knew I was buying it. It wore so comfortably. The dial and hands look amazing in the light. So this became my first AD purchased watch. A speedy is still most likely a purchase for down the road.

I can see why you sent that route what a nice looking watch, 38.5mm 35% off darn. I like things like that more than speedys. Now I’m curious since it’s been sitting since 2016 do you think it needs a service? Not sure how that works in a “new” situation. Congrats on that it really makes me happy seeing people get things they like cause I know how nice of a feeling it is.

That's a great looking watch.
But now that you got that out of your system you can go get the Speedy with no qualms lol.

Very nice! How much lighter is it?
It is noticeably lighter than the other all steel watches I tried on. As for it sitting for that long I don't think it would hurt it. Modern oils shouldn't dry out like vintage pieces right? Seems to be running fine.
