look, if you need money fast, i understand what you are doing. i think, there will be a time in your life, when you will bitterly regret selling your fathers watch. it was part of his life and can be transferred to be part of your life. unless you hated him, i do not get the reason to forgo a family heirloom for something as profan as money. but that is only me. kind regards. achim

Nothing 'profane" about money when you "haven't got a pot to piss in"!馃檨 What if he is broke?馃憤

I think the idea that selling your Dad's watch is some sort of declaration of Paternal hatred is bit of an odd assumption. I absolutely adored my Father, but at some point I may reach the stage where I can no longer justify holding onto such a valuable item, when there are other important family issues that require funding. Maybe in some cases, deceased Fathers would approve.馃憤

Wow. I simply came to this site to ask advice on how to sell a watch. And the only responses I get are from 'achim' and 'nonoffinkbloke', both of whom chose to address my morality as well as speculate on my relationship with my father. Hey, achim... How about, even though I know nothing about you, I sum up what I believe is important to you. I know you didn't ask for it, but why should I care? After all, you know watches. You must be sought out by so many people for your opinions on every subject other that grammar and punctuation. And women your father didn't arrange for you to be with.

And 'nonuffinkbloke', take a tip from your own name... You Know Nothing!

Now, extend this newfound knowledge into your daily life. Staying out of other people's business might be hard for you at first, but I can guarantee the poor suffering souls that have to put up with your assessments will feel refreshed.

Anyway, you both seem to think that my father is being disrespected by me. Simply put, I would rather part with my father's Omega watch than a cheaply framed picture of him that I have in front of me at this moment. Or anything else he happened to own. I'll decide what an heirloom is... not you humps.

So, in conclusion; Keep any non-solicited opinions on this site to yourselves.

If you two are, at this point, insulted; please realize that it was intentional.

If you feel the need for retribution please let me know.

I'll stay on this site for one more week.

Hello I understand you. You prefer to sale your watch? Do you have more information about the model (year / caliber / pictures) ?

You could simply put it on Ebay. That will expose it to the widest audience of potential buyers.

I think you might have misread @nonuffinkbloke post. He's in a similar situation having inherited his dad'swatch, so your insults towards him are not only out of line but also show poor understanding of the people who might help you...

Morris is gone folks. As he stated he planned to be gone in a week, he was given a little early "push".

Yes you are right @MaiLollo. He did misread my post. I was making a simple point:
To some people, the price of a vintage watch may be the difference between sorting out an important financial issue and struggling with it. It's a personal decision. Having said that I'm learning that 'thinking aloud' is not always helpful on an open forum. After all, the watches are the main topic.馃槦

That being the case back to the question: WHERE HAVE ALL THE VINTAGE SPEEDMASTERS GONE?

Chrono24 currently has 75 pieces ranging from reference 2915-3 to 145.012.
e-bay has 9 or 10.
If buyers don't like those prices we have a number of vintage Speedmasters currently for sale, on this forum.馃榾
I've got 1 on the table next to me.

That still only accounts for approx 100 or so??? 馃槙

it appears that 321s being in limited supply (plus other speedies), collectors like me are still holding on to these treasures.thus, seldom we will see few units up in the market recently. fact i just noticed in upcoming sotheby's april 18 auction, no speedmaster on this list.
