Dont worry, the Alaska prices are not behind the TinTin these days 😉

Enjoy the Alaska!

Haha, no worries here, but always sucks to see something jump in price right after you sold it regardless of its a watch or anything else.
Alaska is aesthetically just a much nicer watch IMO, so agree with above messages and I'd guess it might eclipse the Tin tin in the future.

looks good so „messy“ with the chrono at work

Well,

maybe it looks a bit chaotic, but its most of the time not! Normally my Chrono is:

1) "in line with the actual time" or
2) "+-6 hours of the actual time"

... you see today the Chrono is "+6hours":

I love that game to "catch" the time. The picture you are reffering to show a status I would call "on the way to catch the time" ... I was
a bit in front with the Chrono at that time.

you are using the chrono to track a second time zone?

remind me again how you set that up?

Hi,

its very simple: Start the Chrono at 12:00:00h or 06:00:00h 😉 Or start at the moment it is 12:00:00h at the time zone you want to have with the Chrono...

Ha well the problem is finding one, I don't think I'm hunting in the right direction. Everything I've found is essentially Chrono 24 and they're way out of budget plus more than I'd pay for that watch regardless. I found that the actual sale trend is around 10-14K with some last sale in 2021 from watch charts.

I had found two, and I realize that it's from 2008, but some people must throw their watches in concrete mixers.

I heard from two guys that bought one for 18k € and for about 24k $... I think this area will it be for full set in good conditions...

Have you tried in the WTB section or maybe as well in other forums and on ebay? I know Chrono is the way to go but personally i made great experience with forums. for example a member here offered me a tintin even without asking. If the deal is closed I will write my experiences about that 😀

Well,

I think you are not right in the sale trend ... around 20k is what I see.

I think 10 to 14 is the dream price of a guy who wants to buy one. The most recent sale can be easily found on ebay sold items. It was right at 25k for a full set, and that was not an unworn watch. It had scratching, etc. Most I see are now priced above 25k, and I doubt you will find a full set in great shape for less. As someone else noted, in a year you'll be wishing you had a shot at 25k, I expect.

To apply some perspective: I have been trying to help a buddy buy a 116520 black dial Daytona. Prices have been fairly unhinged on them for years now, but if you check chrono24 JUST for this exact variation, you will find over 140 of them for sale on that site alone. How can we say there is too much demand and not enough supply given numbers like this? The demand is for the 15k dollar retail buy that no one gets due to short production. The AP, however, is truly scarce. There will be no more made, and there are none available much of the time. Just sayin'.

Thats what I meant! I doubt that the price goes down anymore… If you want one, now is the time you get it cheapest!
december 2020 i bought mine for 50% of todays price… BUT did now buy a TinTin for 100% more i would have gotten it back then 🙄

Yeah I hear you. Im certainly not the client that's going to buy one of these at 20+K and if watch charts has any bearing they're not selling for that either. I'd buy the 311.30.40.30.01.001 before I'd buy one of these at that price.

If you find a sale of a full set, exc cond. AP in the last few months under 20k, I'd be interested to see it. I see the one within the past month that I referenced before. One reason there are few comps is that there are very few that make it to market. I could be missing other recent sales. Please post what you find. I'll get a link to the one I saw on ebay. April 2. 25k. Plus 150 shipping, plus tax. Link didn't work. The item number is 275081087991. Damn, that doesn't work either. I guess you just have to search sold items. Maybe someone else knows how to get the link to work.

I'm just going off what I see here in the charts. The ones listed for 20K+ don't appear to be selling. There's not a big pool but you can look at the trends for a lot of watches on this site.

Unclear what that link was intended to present to your point?

But FYI, the two watches shown for sale for $19 and $12K are being offered by a certain “paperclip boy” nobody here would purchase from.

Otherwise from the site you link as it shows recent sales prices, as is usual, good and complete examples appear to be trading at a premium (20-25k) while poor and incomplete a discount (15k?)

anything older than a year is moot, I think we all agree - maybe even 6 mo is stale data

That site is confusing at best
