Perhaps it was a poor choice of words on my part lol.

Me too. I'm sure you have a fine ass 😁

You make good points. Thankfully, it's not universal but there's so much hype, it's too easy to get sucked into it. "Do I really like this or is am I responding to the crowd sentiment?" There's a pervasive undertow. You're right to question the real motivation, it's a corrupting influence.

imho the Alaska has the right stuff to be an enduring classic. Just not in my watchbox 🤦

I’d add there’s a distinction between prices pumping due to FOMO/Hype vs prices pumping because anything remotely rare and watch-sized has become a heat sink for cash. They’re not mutually exclusive, and likely synergistic. When a CK2915-1 sells for $3.4 million…

As for the Alaska and me: it was very high on my to-do list a few years back, but not at the very top. By the time I’d patiently found the few other to-do items ahead of the Alaska, the fat lady was singing.

I still blame Eugene.

Prices have ‘cooled’ down a bit …

…still crazy if you ask me. Still quite ‘scarce’… the cheapest has no papers 🤨

Yep, the ice is melting. We could use more of a thaw, though, as it's still a lot of C-H-F's.

But it still warms my heart.

I wanted one for years but just couldn't afford to add it to my collection as there were other pieces I wanted more
I lost interest and then when the new white Speedmaster came out I thought that would cure my itch but when I went to my AD and he let me wear one for a couple days I just realized I didn't care for the new one and it renewed my interest in the Alaska Project.
Im at the point where if I ever can find a decent deal on a complete set Im going to pull the trigger.
The white 3861 is much easier to read than the AP, but there is just something about the AP that draws me in I just can't explain it.

3861 easier to read, newer more comfortable bracelet, the subdials look better, the Speedmaster in red looks great, the only thing I don't love is the hour markers, don't get me wrong they are what makes the dial so legible but there is just something about them that is overpowering to me.

Yet I still lust the AP more because of the subdial hands and the story. Oh yeah that big goofy red "Thermal Shield" is really cool but then again Id never wear it with that on as it would looks HUGE on my wrist LOL

Interesting point. What I love about the Alaska, is the fact that you can, under normal light, hardly see the hour markers. Walk around out of the house (go to town/shopping/etc) and walk back in, and they glow ... its just lovely. Still really enjoy mine. Good luck with your hunt!

Hey all,

Good to see that there are many Alaska fans out there 😀

I am looking to purchase one "Full set" with all the knick-knacks but doesn't have the limited series card with it. Only the pictogram card and Warranty card.

Looked up some thread and apparently you can get a replacement card from Omega? Unsure about the limited series card, as very few talked about it with great significance.

My question is:
Did all the Alaska project come with 3 cards?
Can I get a replacement limited series card? I know that the warranty card is very hard to replace, while the pictogram card is rather easy.\

Cheers😉

Very happy with mine but interesting to compare with the new White wonder... which is also a stunning watch. Still just taking the Alaska back with me... for now.
