This thread is kinda becoming a tradition for me.

I produced the same topic the last years and loved to see which arrivals the members here were excited about, so with another year gone, let’s see what’s new.

Which ones are your favorite new arrivals? Have you found a grail, either new or vintage? What was your surprise-of-the-year purchase? Share as many as you like.

My top 3 picks in no particular order:

1. Condition, condition, condition

While the configuration of this bumper Connie is well-known, the condition absolutely blows me away:

2. Condition, condition, condition and a sprinkle of rarity

This one only came to me a few days ago and I still can’t quite get over the combination of incredible condition, a dial that’s very lovely and yet was unknown to me until I saw it at auction a few weeks ago. Also the first 2577 I own that comes with this sticker on the case back. I suppose I won’t be able to actually wear it, will I…

3. The gold nugget

Another one I haven’t shared here yet, and another one that’s in a configuration I’ve failed to find another example of so far. Meet this 14381/2 solid gold Connie with a rare structured dial:

And now, let’s see yours!

This was much more a selling year for me. We were doing a big remodel after moving into a new home, and the budget was constantly rising, so it just didn't feel right to sink a lot of money into watches. Still, a few watches came my way - the best were opportunistic purchases locally. Some of them I passed on, but here are a couple that stayed with me.

First was an Omega that was new to me, ref 2890. It's a 1950s watch with a 30mm movement. The case is a perfect 36mm size. Unfortunately, it has seen some polishing, but the dial is outstanding and I couldn't let it go.

Next was a familiar reference, 2852. I'm not really a Constellation guy, and the dial has some aging. But I like the rose gold arrowhead markers and after wearing it a few times, it grew on me. So it is still with me for now.

The biggest surprise was part of a lot purchased locally. A Heuer 244C GMT chronograph. Nice watch, and desirable for Heuer collectors, but not really in my wheelhouse, so I passed it on.

Lots of changes in my collection in 2025. Mostly upgrades, but only one addition. I hadn’t considered it a “grail” watch until it came my way. But I’m delighted to have it! My 1892 model Waltham CPR pocket watch. Bought it from a chap who took it to a travelling gold buyer who wouldn’t even condescend to make him an offer because there is “no market”. It wasn’t running at that time, mostly because the mainspring was broken. An easy fix. I’ll bet they recognized it for what it is, but hoped to buy it for scrap.

My buying activity has slowed to a crawl, but I couldn't resist a few that stood out during my surfing. This small Eterna was originally sold through a shop in the charming Swiss town of Vevey, and is remarkably well-preserved.

I also stumbled across a screaming auction bargain on this ref. 2364 Chronometre, which completes my small, "mirror-dial" 30T2Rg collection (the other is the 2365 center-second version).

This is a thread I always love and which makes me think. That reflection typically takes some time and with the significant amount of changes in my collection, this year is no exception. My favourite is easy as 2025 brought me a grail I’ve been hunting for, literally for years… It’s even made it to daily wearer status. 😍

This thread is like a gift each end of year. I've bought a few pieces, some of which I may keep and some I may pass on. Photos are from past posts here in OF.

A 14k pocket Omega

A Longines 8229-1. Not exactly my style, but it's a Valjoux 72 and the price was quite decent, so had to take it.

Omega Admiralty. Love the dial. Don't love the fact that it looks small on my wrist.

Finally, a 166.020 De Ville, which is still on my bench for a cleaning and inspection. Couldn't pass the condition of this dial.

For me this year goes to the Titanium Blancpain Fifty Fathoms bathyscaphe. Was really liking this model for many years. This year Blancpain watches have massively dropped in value, so i took a chance to look around for one. Surprisingly not so many of this variant arround, especially in europe, so it took a while.
Has been worn allmost daily except when i sent to for service.

I had wanted a world timer for a long time, and I finally got one with this beautiful Tissot reissue.

I traded this Heuer back in 2013 and never thought I would see it again. It came up for sale a few weeks ago, and after checking the serial number, it turned out to be my old watch.

One of the first days in January, I bought this beauty from a private seller. The dial is practically flawless, which was more than you could say about the rest: The 30T2 movement was not salvageable. It was without Incabloc and was never supposed to work in a Spider Lug case, and to top it off, the back case is from a central seconds reference. I had a spare cal. 265 so all ended sort of well.

Of all places, I stumbled over this unusual dial on another spider lug case on Chrono24. I have had speculations about dial cleaning but ended up keeping the dial in its original state.

In February, this little gem came to me. What can I say? I'm in love.

A few days ago in December, I finally got a tank as a replacement for my granddad's watch that I lost as teenager.
The tank seller gave me an offer I couldn't resist, and so I left with this as well!

It was an unusual year for me in that I don’t consider myself an active collector. Adding a single watch in a year might be noteworthy. But this year there were two significant additions.

1. New white dial Speedy. An anniversary gift from my wife, and therefore significant sentimental value. But if I adopt my collector’s mindset then this is also a favorite being my only Speedy with:
- applied logo
- DON
- sapphire crystal (and back)
- 3861 movement.

2. 145.022-69 with 220 ‘error’ bezel. This was my first real hunt so definitely a prize in my collection. It stands out for:
- rarity (220 bezel)
- condition
- originality (all exterior components are original as best I can tell, or at least period correct)
- first time researching and pursuing a watch really felt like a hobby
- only black dial Speedy I own

This is my fantastic year, since I have found some of my beloved Speedy.

The 321 Ed White reissue:

The Navitimer Panda:

The ST1:

The Real Replica (my first broad arrow Speedy);

And here’s my most favorite one, since it’s my daughter first ever watch:

One of those horrible threads that makes you understand that no matter what you bought, there’s so much more to buy!
I tried to not buy so many watches this year. It worked so so… I think I only acquired +80 watches this year.
Hard to pick clear favorites but here are a few:

2025 has been a strange collecting year for me.

Despite my reasonable efforts, I’ve lacked focus (again) and been too indisciplined, which has meant too many watches have come in and gone back out again reasonably quickly as they didn’t align with my goals (see https://omegaforums.net/threads/what-are-you-watch-collecting-aims-for-2025.179443/).

Despite this I had a couple of notable acquisitions this year.

Firstly, this almost mint Carrera 2447S.
Although I wasn’t actually looking for one, the opportunity presented itself and this is one of the most enjoyable ways to buys watches imo (possibly also a reason why I seem to lack focus as I can’t resist a good opportunity, whether I’m looking for the actual watch or not!). The condition is so good that I just couldn’t say no. I thought it would push its way into my collection and it did for several months. However, my passion is Camaros and although I probably have room for a 60’s Carrera, I’d prefer a black dial, so even with the condition being so good, this arrived and left in 2025.

Another two that followed a similar path were these two 70’s Datejusts. Both landed in 2025 and in an ideal world I’d have kept both of these but in an effort to regain some focus, I realised that a 70’s-90’s GMT was what was actually on my list, so I made the decision to sell one of these. In the end I sold both and miss them as the dials were both wonderful.

So, the one buy in 2025 that is still with me, was actually on my list of watches to buy in 2025 and I plan to keep in my collection is this Rolex 1675
GMT from c.1977.
In barn find condition from the estate of the original owner, covered in gunk and now currently away for a full service with Rolex accredited independent watchmaker. I’ve also got a red back Pepsi insert on the way.

Only one acquisition this year, due to gold skyrocketing and tariff concerns:

This was an eBay auction at an absurdly low price where I decided that if anyone was going to buy it for melt value, it was going to be me.

Not in pristine condition but it keeps excellent time.

Happy New Year and to all, a better 2026!

Once again, this was a Lemania-heavy year.

The first one, an automatic calibre 3610, came in mid-September. I had always wanted to give my calibre 3615 (on the right in the first photo) a date-less companion, and here it is:

Then, as the year came to an end, I stumbled upon two opportunities I just couldn't ignore. The first one is this nice ref. 925-62 calibre 3015 which I got for a song, probably because the pictures didn't do it justice online:

The second one came in the shape of this lovely gold-capped ref. 918-3 KO calibre 3000 watch. I love these indices to bits.

All these watches put a large smile on my face, but not the way this last one does. Though Lemania-powered, it is a german watch: the Tutima Flieger Chronograph "Commando II" ref. 760.41. I had been wanting one for over two decades, and the opportunity finally came at the beginning of Summer, prompting me to do a day trip to the North of England to fetch this timepiece.

Well, compared to the lovely gems you folks have posted, my only acquisition this year - a green dial Aqua Terra 41 - seems positively pedestrian. It was a happy accident, really, the result of a trading in a disappointment of a watch I was desperate to offload. A local AD took it on trade for the AT; I fortunately got every penny out of the damned thing. The AT had never been on my radar. Until it was. I love it (yes, PCLs and all).
