What is your favorite dress UG ?

Of the many UG that have passed through my hands, this Triple Date Moonphase is currently my favorite dress watch. With the dress watch category, it's obviously a chance to go for more flair and less practical, which is fun. Not worried about waterproof or a design that is less likely something I would choose to wear often.

The things I like about it are:

1) exotic case style
2) rose gold
3) two tone dial
4) art deco numbers, in foil, with deep copper color

For me, these work together to form a perfect dress watch. I only have one slight issue, at 34.5mm this is the smallest watch in my rotation. It works just fine for a dress watch, but I would love to have this exact style in 36-37mm case for a few weeks to compare and see which I prefer. On paper I like the bigger size, but who knows, in person, might prefer the smaller one.

The two tone dial and foil numbers are hard to catch in the light.......

It's in good overall condition, I like that the moonphase disc still has most of it's blue paint, which is a nice contrast to the rose gold case.

You can see this exact watch in the UG advert below. To date I have seen other examples in different color combinations, but never another one in this exact configuration. I hope there are more out there !

If I were to pick a second favorite, it would probably be this 14K yellow gold Tri. It was in my hands for about 5 minutes before my gf grabbed it for keeps 馃槈

You can see the color difference between the 18K rose and the 14K yellow here, although the color is more pronounced in person.

I think the combo with the vintage Fostner band was what really grabbed my gf, it was nice to see her fall for a vintage watch just as hard as me 馃榾

Anyhow, would love to see other examples of people's favorite dress UG, whatever that might be, please share 馃憤

Awesome thread idea.
Used to be this 20s chrono bc it was just so prominent and noble and that crown, although big - I think 41mm but stilI loved it. Now Happily with another member.

The lugs on those cases are very elegant and make a fantastic dress watch. I suppose if you were to go out for a nice evening with the GF you no longer have to choose, both watches will be present 馃榾

My favorite dressy UG is this early 40s 262. Simple Arabic dial but the case is what really shines. Super sharp facets that make for a nice presence and reflections in the light. I like to wear it with a brown ostrich strap. Unfortunately it鈥檚 seen little wear with Covid putting a damper on nice outings.

I have a few but were you to put a gun to my head and say you can keep only one, my near mint, 1956 37mm RG Uni would be the choice.

Agreed. I'm a sucker for exceptional deco numerals like those, though I did not bid.

Is that some sort of hallmark on the back of the case above the numbers?
I see the gold hallmarks on the back of the lugs but I was wondering what that other mark is.

Yah these monopushers and 1st series Compur with enamel dials are fantastic, and quite lush in gold cases. I was surprised how much I liked them in person, and the case sizes are massive ! They didn't make the cut in my current 8 watch rotation, but in a larger rotation, say 20-30, I would love an example.

wow those numerals are amazing! I'm always a sucker for deco numbers. What was the case size and caliber on this one, and do you know how much it went for?
