What were your favorite acquisitions in 2025 (watches)?

You are right; it is a fine number. It’s just that most watch boxes seem to favour factors of five or ten... unless, of course, I dispense with the lot and purchase seven three-slot watch rolls and call it a day!
Just jeep a watch on your wrist while the remaining 20 can get a little rest 😉

My favorite, least favorite and only acquisition in 2025. For me it was a waste of money getting this, since I never use it. I switched to a more comfortable strap, but my wrist is addicted to the Seamaster.

I must say, if I had a "proper" Omega such as a Seamaster, I'm not sure my eye would wander to the Moonswatch that much. As it happens, I don't, so I have the Mission to Mercury. Neptune is a nice choice! But if you don't use it, it might be worth selling it on... although the market is heavily flooded with fakes, which means a lot of people tend to be quite wary.

Almost forgot 😀 - a non-date ref. 866 Ingenieur. Not easy to find, especially at a palatable price!

I have one too.. and with kids running around and the watch getting banged countless times… I am glad I wore it and not a more expensive one! There are watches for every environment I suppose 😂

I only made one acquisition this year, an 1892 Columbus Railway King. So, ipso facto, it is my favorite watch purchase this year.

I've not bought any the last two years, but I just liked the look of this Yema Superman and since they're not big money, why not.
I know almost nothing about Yema, so maybe I'm about to find out they're crap.... 😬

This just snuck in at the last minute of 2025.
I think it's my favourite for this year.

Happy New Year! Let's jointly make 2026 a more inspiring, peaceful and happy year than ever before. 😀 Oh, and let's set the stage for an even greater version of this thread in a years' time. 😀

I took some time to think about my contribution, here it is, on a very cloudy January 1st. I will blame the lack of daylight for the rather poor pictures. 😉
This is a thread I always love and which makes me think. That reflection typically takes some time and with the significant amount of changes in my collection, this year is no exception. My favourite is easy as 2025 brought me a grail I’ve been hunting for, literally for years… It’s even made it to daily wearer status. 😍

The 2998-6 solidly remains in favourite position, however, it will get company of a 3570.40 Japan Racing.

Then there's a few honorary mentions. Not one, but two 345.0808's of the first LE series of 1000 pieces with copper movement. Although, to be fair, one of the two will have to go. It's listed here.

And finally there's these two, a 145.022-71 and a 166.010. Strictly speaking neither fits in 2025 as they were acquired in late 2024, but they're meaningful to me in 2025 anyway as being the first few watches I've bought as non-runners and serviced myself. With some help and coaching of much more knowledgeable watchmakers, that is. Still, I cherish those as reviving a watch gives a quite special feeling. 😀

By the way: I love this thread. Keep them coming!

Looking back I had a decent 2025 for watches, so here in chronological order are my best of the year.

Started the year with both this Constellation 2852 and Tissot 6220 from the local watch fair in January

The absolute best find of the year was this beautiful black hobnail Constellation 2782

Scored another 33.3 chrono, this a ref 2393 with a simple dial and nice blued hands.

Then came this lovely black gloss Constellation 168.010, which was actually the first watch I've ever bought via Chrono 24. Later than where my focus lies....but I just couldn't resist the silver gilt dial.

Another 2852, this one with pie-pan dial and quite a heavy patina.

I couldn't help myself when I came across this Constellation Megaquartz, again at a watch fair. The pictures really don't do it justice, when some light catches the dial it is incredibly sparkly. A super accurate movement from when Omega were really pushing the boundaries of what was possible.

And last but not least in late December a 2486 jumbo Cosmic TDMP....also with a lot of patina, but still charming enough on the wrist!

I've updated my photos for my 2025's watches. It's maddening to try to get good photos from black dials!

Those two acquisitions anger me. So, when the details of the next scheduled edition of that fair are released, I suggest, in the spirit of fairness, that you provide me with the information, and a 45 minute head-start. 😀

Best we can hope for is to enter the fair simultaneously with him and then head in the direction @cristos71 isn’t. 😉

And that, right there, is my master plan for January 18th. 😇

Lovely stuff !
This one gave me the most joy in 2025 by getting all the parts and have the cal 861 serviced by a professional, to make a unicorn Speedmaster.
