Had a few acquisitions this year but my favorite probably has to be this one. Citizen recordmaster with an uncommon silver dial.

I'm late in the game but here are my highlights of 2022

The first, and the one to rule them all
My first purchase of the year 2022 was already a big bang: a Speedmaster 145.012-67 found on a local auction site, my first serious Speedy purchase. To feel comfortable to go for it involved a combination of my own research and great help of forum members here. The nerve-wrecking final minutes of the auction, the excitement of actual winning and the anxious wait for the delivery are unforgettable. I shared my buying experience in a separate thread. What makes this purchase extra special is the fact that I made two new friends on OF who I now have regular contact with and happened to meet in person: @Aludic who was most helpful in assessing the watch and encouraging me to go for it and @perenowell who I had not known before and who entered the auction in the final minutes (thanks for driving up the price lol). He ended up being the underbidder, but showed so much sportsmanship and appreciation for my win.
And thanks to @140dave I now have the correct 516 end links for the 1039 that came with the watch.

The Constellations
Omega Constellations still make up the core of my collection, and I'm very happy about three additions this year.
A 2887

A 14381 with a railtrack dial

And a 14900 with an onyx pie pan dial with crosshairs. I'm a bit proud of myself for having been patient and waited for an excellent example to come along.

Late Christmas Eterna Chronometer shopping
I've been an Eterna fan ever since I found the Eterna-Matic thread here, and I've wanted an Eterna Chronometer for a long time. Over Christmas I managed to land two, one of which is pictured here:

2022 was a pretty prolific. So time to slow down in 2023? Yeah, that was the plan until... January

Great post! It was worth the wait. I particularly like the 14900 Connie and the Centenaire.

End of 2022 I decided that I would need a daily watch next to my 168.004. Then I got the Speedmaster reduced from @pmontoyap. As it has been loved by previous owners I decided for a full overhaul including case restoration at “Die Zeitmesserin“ in Vienna. I love what they did! But have a look yourself:

Laser welding

Finished

I bought 2 amazing watches from my favorite brands. Going into 2023, I hope to dive deeper into vintage. More omega constellations and seamasters please! Maybe even older Omegas like 1940’s?

If I had that watch I don't think I would need any others (Except possibly a Seiko to knock around).

I made a good call on a nice 2471 but also missed plenty of good opportunities.

Anyhow taking a look at this beauty is helping to get over 😀

Nice watches my friend!
Yeah, I lost this auction, but I won a good friend so I'm happy with it! 😉

I knock around in it. It makes no complaints.
