Some of the parts and cases for 55x/56x I acquired during 2025 and earlier. No real favorites yet. I keep buying empty cases in hopes something will fit. Most of the cases are of recent acquisition. Dials, crystals and crowns seem elusive at the moment.

Small money, big fun: Seiko SKX009.

My goodness, there are a lot of real gems that have been unearthed in 2025. You folks have really knocked it out of the park! I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I acquired 8 watches this year but of that multitude, two really stand out for me and they're both vintage.

For years, I've always fancied a vintage Constellation and thanks to the expertise found in this forum I managed to land this vintage JDM model.....

Now to me, this one was my most significant find because it harkens to my first real passion, that being scuba diving. As with many activities, one tends to gravitate to the gear and for me it was Dacor, who are no longer in business. I was aware of some collaborations but not this one which was produced by an also defunct brand Solvil et Titus. I am thrilled to have it in the collection...

My one and only that I picked up this year. And at a very fair price as well.

Happy holidays all!

Thanks for the thread @MtV. Always looking forward to it.

This year I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time scrolling this forum and the wider web hunting for the next gem. Learned a lot, seen a ton of watches, but… purchases have been pretty quiet and paced. I’ve mostly stuck to my list, though I definitely regret missing out on quite a few pieces where I was just too slow.

Kicked off the year with an honest, sharp 168.005. Picked up an original crown to swap in down the road. It’s been a regular in the rotation.

Then I discovered this 18k YG 167.005 about 10 minutes before the end of the auction. Didn’t expect to win it, as I really just threw in a bid after a rough day, thinking it would make me feel better. Not sure it did, nor did my wallet. That said, condition is as close to perfect as it gets.

The last one had been on the list for several years… a Triple Date Moonphase. Pretty hard to find in strong condition without a silly price. From the family of the first owner. Definitely my favourite acquisition of 2025!

Thanks to all the members (who will recognise themselves) who have provided sound and quick advice to help me pull the triggers. I really appreciate it.

Bought a Seamaster Sparkle at a good price, but sold it to a friend to be his PhD watch and to finance the birthyear Speedy that will serve me as the PhD watch. The latter one is currently at the watchmaker 😊

I am fortunate to have found this Speedmaster 105.012-65, and also this Constellation 2652 both from OF members to whom I am grateful.

Best New Years wishes and happy hunting to all!

Watch purchases have been scaled back since my daughter was born last year but I managed to pick up a few nice pieces, including an 18k Zenith cal. 146 with panda dial - a Father’s Day present, an 18k IWC that was originally sold to an employee of Patek Philippe and a grand luxe project that will probably cost me a pretty penny to bring back to life.

Two for this year. I was lucky enough to snag Tudor's new Black Bay 58 "Red Hulk" on a 5-link bracelet and a beautiful Omega Planet Ocean. And, special thanks to my wife who always supports my acquisitions.

My plan for 2025 was not to buy any watches at all, but service a few of the ones in need. I have managed to get the servicing done but couldn’t resist the opportunity to pick up this chocolate dial 145.012-67.

Loved these 3 purchases:
1) a 2505 from @Bluemartinifan 😀

2) a Massena Noctograph - a bit of an impulse buy but I ended up really loving it!
3. and the last purchase of the year, just 3 weeks ago, a Jaeger 37mm chrono

2025 was a fairly slow year for me without too many new arrivals.. but there were some beauties in there.

Here are my favorites:

1940s Vacheron Constantin two-tone 4073 ref.

1945 Omega 30t2rg Chronometre 2366 ref.

1960s Gallet Decimal w/ an Excelsior Park 4 movement (still in watchmaker queue)

I purchased three very different watches this year, but all stuck stringently to the ‘Omegas from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s rule’ I imposed on myself when I started collecting watches. The collection is currently at 21 which is an awkward number for my OCD brain, meaning I either need to round it up in the new year… or round down… I’m pretty sure you all know which way that will go. Thanks to everyone who helped share their knowledge this year and also the admins for running the only corner of the internet worth visiting.

Why? 21 is the product of a prime number of primes. Great number!

You are right; it is a fine number. It’s just that most watch boxes seem to favour factors of five or ten... unless, of course, I dispense with the lot and purchase seven three-slot watch rolls and call it a day!

25 is also a perfectly good number. 👍
