What watches are on your Wish List?

Do you think you would wear it regularly if you got it? I ask only because of the coincidence with me talking just last night about my old original Proplof that I ended up selling because it was so uncomfortable to wear. I eventually let a friend wear it for a few months so it wasn't just sitting there in a box, but he became uncomfortable because so many people were trying to buy it off his wrist, so I finally sold it.

Great if you do, but I am just curious how many folks buy something like this after admiring them for so long only to realize they may be impractical.

I guess my Wishlist would have a number of interesting watches (I also played around with a Aqua Terra GMT Worldtimer yesterday) so a Ploprof would only come out on special occasions or as part of a rotation. It’s true that in many ways it’s an impractical watch and the bling makes it a less likely tool/dive watch, but the fact it’s made of titanium means it weighs less than the original (the ‘basic’ version is lighter again without the gold).

I currently wear the same watch 95% of the time, so any Wishlist would mean I get to rotate them 😁. I’ll just have to think of 4 more to make up a week’s worth... Incidentally about 30 years ago my Wishlist contained just a Seiko Kinetic watch, so times change (and get more expensive) 😬

Having already acquired a SMP 2254 this year and being absolutely content with it as my modern wearer, with no intentions of adding any more to my collection anytime soon I stumbled across the SMPc 212.30.41.20.03.001. The blue dial and ceramic bezel have really caught my eye and now I am thinking this could be a perfect companion to my 2254 only on a strap rather than the bracelet so I get the best of both worlds!

Just as I think my collection is complete with the perfect amount of vintage and modern something else pops up and off I go on a research frenzy...I guess Christmas isn't so far away 😁

It is not a long list, but lovely watches keep popping up that I can't resist. I'm looking to round out my vintage collection with:
- 1940's 30mm Rolex military - victory or skyrocket
- 1950's Zenith or Omega bumper
-1960's or early 70's manual wind chronograph with Lemania, Valjoux, Zenith-Martel, or EP movement. I'm not fussy.
- manual wind, triple calendar moonphase.

Hopefully getting that chronograph within the next few months. Been wanting to add a JLC for a long time but didn’t have the money and was indecisive as to which model.

Here I thought I was ready for the Longines Heritage Tuxedo chrono... but holy cow! What's the reference for that top one please?

I've been debating whether or not I should share this, unsure of what the reaction would be, but here is my watch tracker spreadsheet. It scrapes prices from a number of sites on a few watches I'm interested in buying. I haven't updated the "manual update" cells (cols I-N) in a while since I've been unemployed and not in a position to spend any discretionary funds, so trying to resist temptation. Many of you will be able to reverse engineer the formulae to suit your own lists. If not, PM me and I'll do my best to help.

This is super useful - thank you for sharing it so generously. I hope your fortunes change for the better very soon indeed.

I very much did enjoy it, thank you. Comparing this to the Longines, I see for twice the cost you are getting much more than twice the watch! His points in the vid are all valid, but especially the case finishing note, reminds me of my IWC Fliegerchrono with various brushed, polished, and highlighted edges. The Longines is pretty much entirely polished, and looks lesser because of it. They nailed it on the size, my Flieger is 39mm and I've always felt just a slight bump up would make it perfect. One thing this video made me realize is that the Longines has a running seconds subdial, and a 30-minute register, whereas this has no running seconds (excellent!) and far more useful 30-min and 12-hr subdials.
I thought I had my next piece lined up but this gives me pause, in the best way possible. Again, thanks!

On my wish list of watches

Omega Speedmaster 321 - Requested
Rolex Daytona TT - Requested
Panerai Luminor
IWC Portugiser
Omega Seamaster / Planet Ocean

I doubt if my name will ever get to the top of the 321 list, I think that there will be more names above me than watches available, but you never know.

The Daytona is for a big birthday next year so all being well I have ordered in plenty of time, along with the 321 this is the only watch that I am certain that I want, the rest are watches that would be nice to have not not essential, it all depends on what she who must be obeyed will let me buy in the next few years.

Damn, I now want one - the master moon has been at the back of my mind for a while but this is a beauty.
