Chess, but I'm terrible. Running, but I got plantar fasciitis and had to stop. Parenting, but I lost her at the mall once. CNC art, but everything I've made looks like cheap dime store crap. Travel, but can't with the pandemic. Cooking, but it always leads to me arguing with my wife.
My watch collection is nice.

Looks like you got a pair of Altra. I am a big fan of the Lone Peaks, a great trail shoe IMO.

AH i see you're a man of culture as well 馃榾

Yeah they are great, though i switch between salomon sense 4 pro which makes me 'feel' as though i'm going faster hahaha.

I don't run fast, but I do like to have an adventure. I used to have problems with planter faciiitis and other issues, but since I switched to only running trails and the Altras things have been good. I do a fair bit of bushwacking and off trail running and they perform well in muddy slippery situations. I think the wide forefoot helps with traction as well.

About ten years ago, I needed a new project for my small CNC router and stumbled across the R2 Builders Club so decided to have a go...

I particularly like this next pic as the droids next to mine all ended up being used on screen in the new Disney films. The R2-Q2 and R4-M9 droids were used in The Force Awakens (and not just in the background - one appears full screen!). The all aluminium droid was used in Rogue One - Disney even issued it as an action figure and gave it a backstory. The builder eventually decided to sell it as it became just too valuable to drive around conventions being pawed by kids.

I did one convention and it was fun, but not really my thing, so my R2 lives under a dust sheet in the spare room. I'll probably sell it, but it's so difficult to put a price on it. Not to mention the utter garbage Star Wars has become. Everything since the original trilogy has been awful.

These days I've invested in a couple of 3D printers and I'm currently churning out an inMoov robot - an open source project. I'm at the point where things are going to get expensive, so it's on hold until I've saved up a bit. The wife takes a dim view of me paying for 'stupid electronics toys' 馃榾

Ok I鈥檓 impressed, wow some awesome stuff.

My ultimate on the back burner, hobby is woodworking. I always liked it, didn鈥檛 grow up around it. I must of watch a million woodworking shows on PBS, had mag subscriptions and all. Life got in the way, so I really wanted woodworking training (don鈥檛 need) another hack out there . So almost three years ago, I the time and decided to enroll in the only woodworking program in SanDiego maybe all of SoCal. Halfway through the semester( designing) rough cutting ect a mantel clock the covid started. So that was put on hold, I just enrolled for the spring semester. Collecting hand tools and some books.

If you want to be impressed, check out Brad's droid. It's an absolute jewel of engineering!

I鈥檝e always been into sports. I鈥檓 getting older to where I could still play not as fast or good as a few years ago but I still did softball, racquetball, and a little bit of basketball. I was in the gym six days a week lifting weights. I tore my rotator cuff a couple months ago so I鈥檓 kinda lost right now and looking for some new hobbies. So far the only one I have found is eating. That鈥檚 not a good one either

I'm mechanically restoring an old BMW (essentially, buy parts, install parts), but I also buy and sell whisky (bottles and casks). I dabble in amateur pornography. Also, I try to improve my culinary skills; I really enjoy cooking.
