What is your grail Omega and why?

As far as the cartoon character goes, Snoopy doesn't bother me. He's there because Omega received a Silver Snoopy award, and that's the heritage. Why NASA chose snoopy for their award I can't really say and am even less fit to judge. It's a very, very, niche Omega-NASA kind of quirk, and honestly- that makes it more... meaningful to me in a weird way. Normally I wouldn't appreciate the cartoon character though, so I get where you might be coming from.

Me calling it “silly” was probably a bit harsh. I do appreciate the heritage and connection, but I would’ve been happier with Snoopy just being on the caseback.

300m Diver with a modern bracelet. Come on Omega you can do it! Even through the P.O bracelet on there and i'm a buyer.

Much like chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, my search for the holy grail never ends.

Trog it has got to end somewhere. It looks like you are pretty close already 😀

Comes down to setting priorities..... who needs to heat and eat anyway? 😉😉

The Gemini 4 ticks a lot of the same boxes. Reversed panda, yes, but no silly cartoon on the dial.

Oooooh, that strap looks GOOOOD on that Gemini! Maybe I'll reconsider the sale! Lol!!

I don't think so, I probably have expressed similar opinions in the past.

You where right, its silly rocket scientist humour!
Even as a Peanuts fan I would never have a cartoon character on my dial, and I have a "wart " at 10 on my case.

Some slightly amusing irony here since the helium Escape valve you have on your case is only there because it was there in earlier iterations and now is totally unnecessary. Not really that different than the Snoopy on the dial, a prior generation for whatever odd reason decided to use Snoopy as a symbol of outstanding achievement. Why did NASA choose such an off the wall cartoon character? I don't have any idea. Why does omega continue to put helium Escape valves on their cases and make them look terrible? I also have no idea... except that it really boils down to "tradition."

😜

I have zero gold watches, but something about this reference just calls to me. What a sweet combo that green and gold make, just stunning.

I would love to clear a space in my watch box for a Canopus Gold 321, although at 147k AUD I think I’ll let the Trilogy Speedmaster scratch that itch for the very foreseeable future.

It's a very heavy watch. I tried it on in a boutique 2 years ago. Impressive material. Made my full steel Ploprof feel like a lightweight. it's still there in the boutique. But I agree especially after price hike after price hike, don't buy this watch at retail.
What was it like?? How did it wear (thickness, balance, comfort…). Thank you so much😀

Speedy 3861 Sapphire is my grail. It takes me a long time to save up for it, since I prefer it to be new (to create the scratches myself). With these price increases hard to catch up 🙁 Should have bought the 1861 Sapphire Sandwich new when I had the chance five years ago at my AD.

Of course I would be really thrilled upgrading my collection with even finer speedies and sm300 even though I am happy wearing mine.

But what is really a grail for me (and it has been for the last 3 years) is finding a pristine collector grade 30T2RG like the ones that can be seen in Erich incredible book… but I very rarely see them in ´real life.

For me, it’s the moonshine gold Speedmaster with green dial. What a badass watch.

This was my Omega grail after missing out on the initial issue, but after a two year wait I managed to buy one. And for me, it was worth the waiting time, I smile to myself every time I wear it.
So glad someone brought this watch up, here's a very enthusiastic +1. Watching Ultraman as a kid is one of my earliest memories. This was before cable so the only way to see Ultraman was in a movie theatre, usually early on a Saturday. I am somewhat new to the watch game and when I came across that watch (and all the extras that come with it) it immediately became my grail.

That said, the two watches that have made the biggest impression on me in this thread are the white Snoopy and the Gemini 4. Since this is a pretty old thread, I thought I would add a somewhat recent release that is very similar to the Gemini 4, the blue Tokyo Olympic edition Speedmaster.
