What is your grail Omega and why?

I just saw my grail watch - Speedmaster Silver Snoopy 45th anniversary - listed on a local online marketplace and boy do I want to pull the trigger. Personally I've always loved the Silver Snoopy 2nd Edition since I first saw it. The pristine white dial gives away a dressy character without being too serious. The lumed hour markers, Snoopy subdial, and tachymeter scale are beautiful additions. The silver Snoopy on the case back reminiscent to the official pin flown on Apollo XIII. I'm literally in love with this piece. If I had to have only one LE this would be it.

What Omega have you lusted / are you lusting over?
This watch. This exact one. I'm on the list for a 50th at my boutique, but my heart wants (but won't pay for) this one.

Not a grail….but the next one. I like Ti.

Don't pay retail. Should be able to get on C24 or ebay less than 8k with bracelet, 6ish for NATO.

Apollo 11 50th moonshine gold - besides the important significance in the history of the model, this is not just a simple remake but a perfect balance between heritage and some “new” materials and cool details.

Is that for a new with taxes? I've been looking and prices are about 1-2k higher. Dunno if maybe now is just a bad time.

I see, this threat is dominated by the Speedmaster Professional, yes some other nice Omegas, but I feel triggered to show as well alternitives.
And my grails come only as pairs:

- Omega tool watches in the Pilot Line: Seamaster 200 called Baby Ploprof and Speedmaster Professional Mk III and they are selfwinding and have date window. The base movements came from Lemania. I can not understand to wear one of the most shown Speedmaster Professional as they are hand wound and have no date, yes and none shown here was on the moon.

- But the grails for daily civil life I like the goldies Omega Constellation C-shape 168.019 and 168.029 with the best vintage Omega movement cal 751. They are heavy as well, but fit the wrist perfectly.

- All the way the above mentioned watch pairs are at least no grails, as they are easy to find and not too expensive.
My real grails are not Omega but IWC Ocean Bund, one is an AMAG for mine divers so totally amagnetic containing no steel parts and the sister with quartz movement for the reconnaissance scout. And both were worn in military actions. The movements of both are based on Eta but with intense IWC adaption.

Greetings Konrad

The first watch you posted above, the 166.091, has a service dial and service hands and is definitely not "easy to find and not too expensive" in all original condition.

Here's my 166.091 as a reference.

Well that's where we differ.......I don't care if I have to wind it, but I couldn't care less about date windows as they're to small for my eyes to read without reading glasses and I can't be arsed changing the date, every month or so, especially as I probably cant read the damned thing anyway!

I this case I dont care about service dial aso, its a tool watch only and not for the private museum. And I just see 3 in Ebay starting under 5k€ and of the MkIII as well.
=> Over all my watch (SM200) is much nicer (or more impressive) than yours!
For my opinion both these Omega tool watches 166.091 and 176.002 are so nice and robust and servicable and still available for under 5k€, so I do not understand the hype about the other Speedmasters or Submariners.
Konrad

PS: And please, dont take my remarks too serious, we are in a non profit hobby, just for fun or reputation.

Ok, but then you are anyway too old for a trip to the moon or racing Indianapolis...

Ah sorry if you've taken offense to what I wrote above, I thought you were showing the watches that you wanted to obtain not the watches you owned. Most people in this thread are posting pictures of watches they don't yet own but are their desired 'grail'.

As such I was trying to let you know that if you were on the look out for a 166.091 then the one in your photo was using service parts and wasn't a good representation of what to look for when looking for a 166.091, so just trying to be helpful not antagonistic.

Anyway, if you're happy with your watch then that's all that matters. 🙂

I bought one in October 24, full set still in plastic for 7400.

Ok sorry, the 'Grail' is something you desire to find, but it will remain a dream.
As a non British subject I am not so familiar with this old story of Artus and that magic bowl...?

But when I make up my mind, its hard to find a grail watch, maybe a PP Nautilus steel?? But then I would have to add the AP Royal Oak to complete the Gerald Genta trio with my IWC Ingenieur SL Jumbo.

I ended up biting the bullet with a used one that arrived in really good condition. There were a couple "new" ones but with taxes and shipping it was close to $9k, which at that point, might as well just go to the OB.

If grail means quest for something I’ll likely never ever ever find let alone spend on, it would be an original 145.022-69 Racing dial. Except I can find one at the moment but I’m not going to spend on it.

I just realized the question is for modern omegas. So I’ll say…… Alaska Project.
