Seamaster 300m was my first watch and the 41mm diameter, thickness and bracelet was perfect for me, its just the right size and i thought Omega nailed this for everyday person, i would wear it with suite or just casual and it blends in well - that resulted in very good price too for what you get £2631.50. If its appeal didn't fit someone's taste i.e. sportiness, larger size then you could go for Planet Ocean model range, you would also pay more money of course.
The new revision watch, when i put it next to my watch on the counter, the size is noticeable, however incremental they are so for me the dress watch appeal has been lost. I appreciate the new tech and i like these things but so the price has increased? When we were buying my watch, myself and my wife had to split the payment on our cards as single whole transaction would take up our monthly salary, this was already beyond budget of £2k - we wanted nice keeper watch for me but yet realising that the financial limits but realised that extra £500-600 was worth for this brands and the watch design.
The different colours, they way that i see this is an attempt to appeal to more audience, many watch brands been doing it so now its time for Omega? They kept it previously very minimum (black and blue), leading with its ever popular Seamaster in just that format, very distinct!
Desperate - maybe not the polite word but represents struggle within watch industry.
Beyond my original post, maybe they should invest in smart watch tech, they going to have to do something in future! Its not sacrilege, its just up keeping with the times 😀 and this is not to push out existing models but to bring something new to the table get new audience in and if customer wants pure mechanical watch then this is also available from range of Omega models spanning for multiple decades
