A FILM camera? Wow! I bought a Canon Élan II to replace 2 AE1s that were stolen out of my car 15 years ago. I bought the Élan II before digitals became the BIG thing, at an affordable price. I used that Canon on a three week trip in the British Isles right after I bought it. It performed flawlessly! About two years after that trip, I bought an Olympus C5050 which I was very pleased with, until memory cards were no longer readily available. Since then, I bought an Olympus PL-2 PEN model, and quite like it as well. It bothers me that the Élan just sits! Part of digital photography being so versatile and convenient.

I use digital when I want convenience, I use film when I want to relax.

I would think that, if a person were to be using a camera a lot, the film camera would be more appealing. My problem is that, I take a couple photos per week, and a particular image outdoor not see the light of day, perhaps for months. On our trip in 2000 to the Bitish Isles, I took close to 1,000 photographs! I fastidiously kept a notebook handy, and logged every film I used, and then every picture on each film, so that I could prepare a meaningful album of the trip. It was a lot of work during the trip, but once the album was finished, the format is one that I prefer to a digital album.

Not really. I take photos at the bench every day (I shot 110 frames just this afternoon alone) and it would cripple me time wise and/or financially to process film. I think it depends on what your purpose in shooting the photos is.

My Nikon D90 is now at over 86,000 frames shot on the body...

The fact that film cameras and film are still being made would imply to me that the many perceived advantages of digital photography are not important to everyone. I am certain there is a realm in the world of photography where film cameras have advantages over digitals. All I am saying is that digital photography would seem to me to be the way to go if you don't use a camera a lot. Or even, if it suits you, if you DO use a camera a lot. I have pictures on the film in my Canon Élan II that I took over two years ago! Heaven knows how long it will take me to use up the film!

Guns, Knives, Cocktail Shakers, Bar Books and I have more shoes than I should have. I do not consider the shoes a collection.

Nice dogs, do you go hunting with them?
My brother looks after one of these, it belonged to his, now deceased father in law, who used him for hunting reindeer. Kalle, (the dog) does not like anyone apart from my brother going near him, I get the impression they are one people kind of dogs. I grew up with dachshunds, one of which only ate beef and the other only ate chicken.

No hunting for these boys unless it's for a treat left in a pocket. They are extremely affectionate with everyone but they certainly have a favourite, I couldn't possibly say who ::love::

Watches are my first hobby, but I also collect custom made titanium flashlights and custom titanium folding pocket knives...

Here is a recent photo of the lights. Some of these have been sold to fund a 14060M this month...
