amazing how many dive watches on this thread....

this was bought because it was tough and I wouldn't get so attached to it that I would lose sleep if it got killed or ripped off.

pretty much the first thing I did to it was dunk it in the Caribbean.

I have a couple of these Jack Mason watches and a Timex for travel. I only take one watch on a trip.

Something that I would not mind beating to death or losing.
So, a cheap seiko or my 8 year old Aquaracer.

Interesting thread especially with a trip to Utah and Wyoming coming up.
I convinced myself of the "need" for GMT watch, snapped up a Steinhart LE but don't feel the love and actually think that "11 hours difference" will be in my head anyway.
I'm planning a maximum of three including AT teak dial, my retirement Brellum and maybe a tough little diver. On the other hand I admit to a Seiko Velatura Yachting Timer which provides second time zone facility.... photos in a minute....

Going on a vacation with the whole family on wednesday and since it’s a casual vacation and not a cityweekend, I will wear my Timex Archive.
It can take a bit of a beating o wont be hurt by getting wet in the pool😀

You know, I travel a lot. A lot. Like 220+ nights a year. I have a few watches and have usually worn an inexpensive SS chrono when travelling (most often by plane), but after buying the G-Shock Mudman G9300-1, it is THE one to travel with. Solar powered, solid, super super accurate, very light, tough and tough looking, water and dust proof, easy read, 12/24 hr, multi alarm, hourly chime, multi time zone (very handy), stop watch (useful when timing that perfect soft boiled egg for your new European friend ;-), ...., plus an accurate compass (VERY handy), temperature sensor, and moon phase (not that useful, but cool, and hey - it came on the watch). Under $200 too.

It will become your very best travel friend, and you will still love getting back home to your nicer watches !

This is what they look like.

Glad I found this thread. I’m traveling to Southern California in a few months for vacation and not sure whether I should bring my SS Globemaster White dial or not. Do you guys think it stands out too much as an expensive watch? Activities will focus around the family, zoo, pool, walking around etc...

I will be taking my Seiko SKX, but still debating whether to take the Globemaster. Any advice would be appreciated.

The Seiko STO works well ,& you can easily change over straps should you want too.

Usually my ExpII...

Brought this along to Australia a few years ago as a back-up, and glad I did as I shattered the crystal in my ExpII in the Sydney hotel shower floor! 🫨

Then on a trip to Italy 2 years ago my wife insisted I bring something “safer”, so I brought this one... because “yes dear”!
