This is for the journey, I would not want to go around the London and Paris rail stations with anything fancier visible.

I chose to wear Constellation 168.018 on my 5000 miles USA trip. It was perfect. But now I travel with the Pro, it’s daily.

Time to stink up the joint...I wear a 1990's Polar heart rate monitor. It has a loud alarm, is easy to change the time, and it's not something I worry about. I kept it after the chest strap (for the heart rate) went kaput, just for the times I needed a watch that I didn't worry about at all.

if it is not a business trip, avoid bringing collectible or expensive watch.

Watches are meant to be worn and enjoyed, not left behind. If you’re genuinely concerned, I’d say just take one that way you don’t have to worry about leaving one behind in a hotel room.

Took a trip to Scotland and Ireland a few years back, had no hesitation wearing my PO. It’s also made a couple trips to the happiest place on earth, no concerns. I’ve worn my SM300 on a family trip to San Diego, complete with beach, zoo, and all the normal stops, again no worries.

As my collection is a lot smaller now I took two watches to Croatia last year, SM300 and my AT keeping the one that I wasn’t wearing in the room safe.

Also took a spare strap to change things up if I fancied

I remember going to Venezuela in 1998 and the guy beside me on the flight was wearing a Rolex. I thought he was nuts. I was wearing a 10 year old digital watch and old shoes to blend in upon landing as much as possible.

I was there in 2001 (for an archery tournament), and while waiting at the gate in NJ a local who was returning to Venezuela told me to "try not to look like a Gringo" when I got there. Apparently it didn't work because some guys on motorcycles tried to mug me and the other 2 guys I was with while we were walking back to our accommodation one day...I didn't wear a watch around (even left my wedding ring at home), and only kept one cheap watch in my bag.

These days I usually wear my SM300 while on vacation. Here it is last month at the Australian Open...taunting the guy outside the Rolex room...

X33, Mutiple time zones and timers and a super loud alarm to get through the jet lag fog.

My problem is not water proof enough for me. So I generally also bring a dive watch.

However I'm in the market for a Hamilton field mechanical, which I may use for travel.

On a recent trip I brought my orient ray, which worked well all round, but did not have a big time change.

I have a GMT master II but getting reluctant to travel with as I had a rolex airking stolen last year while traveling (in US)

May I ask how you had it stolen?
Variety. 4 watches max.
If I am have to be afraid to loose the watch and not be able to replace it (same for camera gear) it is not meant for me. You have to enjoy your stuff or it is dead weight.
Of course everything within reason. 😁

Good mentality!

I wear something cheap or not at all. Worry about leaving in room when in pool, snorkeling or doing something active. My Omega friend buys cheap modern cool watches ($500 or less) and leaves the good stuff back in safety deposit box as he is retired and often lives on cruise ships.

I live in Vancouver and am planning a trip to Europe. Last trip, I wore my Seiko SKX007, but my collection has grown quite a bit since. Am worried about wearing too nice of a watch (don't want to attract too much attention) or lose it (though I have insurance), but would like to be able to wear a nice watch.

Does anyone have a go to travel watch?

It varies, but a different one pretty much every time ... only one, the chrono has been on more than one trip

Next trip I’ll be wearing the Alpina

step counter, gps, awesome digi display (great for second time zone)
