What do you wear when travelling on vacation?

I live in Vancouver and am planning a trip to Europe. Last trip, I wore my Seiko SKX007, but my collection has grown quite a bit since. Am worried about wearing too nice of a watch (don't want to attract too much attention) or lose it (though I have insurance), but would like to be able to wear a nice watch.

Does anyone have a go to travel watch?

Nice, not flashy, GMT, was not pricey when I got it.

Where in Europe? I mean it’s not like you will get robbed 5 minutes after setting your foot on the European continent if you are wearing something other that a Casio (if that is your concern?). Depends on how you act and where you are going. If you stand in the centre of most cities usually visited by tourists counting your Euros€ in the middle of the street, while looking at a city map and yelling to anyone walked past if they know where you can get your Patek serviced while in town, then I am pretty sure that some low life eventually will come along and try to trick you

Last time I travelled in Europe I just wore my Submariner. I have worn my GMT-Master too.

My planet ocean on every vacation since 2012. Europe, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Mexico, and all over the US. When I went to Hawaii last month I saw 4 planet oceans on the airplane. Seems like I’m not the only one who finds it to be a good travel watch. The jumping hour hand is a travelers dream.

If you’re visiting the City of London, to blend in I’d say a Rolex Submariner.

I find a Black Bay Black is a good compromise: both casual and semi-elegant, robust, can get wet, not too showy and I don't need to worry about wearing a vintage. GMT is not an issue, I use my phone.

I find any combination of these three pretty much covers all my travel needs without stressing about value/risk at all

These are typically my vacation watches. Generally I take two: one for daily wear and one if I’m concerned about security. Criteria ... must be water resistant and multiple time zones is a nice to have although as veteran traveler, the time zone issue is rarely an issue. 9FFF6931-1199-444F-B213-325ABED1099D.jpeg AD10F202-BC3C-4B2B-9D10-3BF0150B051D.jpeg 55AC77AA-5E67-4F29-A501-2F1ECE7E343E.jpeg
Rough duty or iffy settings: (the Rolex has seen its share of rough duty though...)
