Watch Box Recommendation?

Greetings, Friends!
My wife is on the hunt for a watch box for me and getting it here before Christmas isn’t a big deal. I’m flattered that she thought of it. She called me into the library to look at some and holy smokes some are high.

So…what do you folks have, use, and like? I need a 12 slot and prefer something better than faux leather over cardboard but cheaper than what a quality vintage Omega would run. Pics of your boxes would be great! Thanks and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I have some nice ones with glass display tops but realize that every time I move them the watches bang together (even if it’s very slight). If you intend to have the box in a stable position next your bed or something I wouldn’t be too worried about it but you’ll also end up having them pretty exposed for potential thieves. I ended up going with a pelican case with watch inserts.

I have learned to search before asking and I came up empty this go round. Perhaps my search parameters were off. Who knows but I am appreciative of the thread list. I purchased a Tawbury. Watches have yet to be gathered and given their new home.

The OF search function isn't the greatest. I generally use google, restricting the search to omegaforums using the site: operator.

Ugh. I started with a 12 and then moved to another 12, and then a 24, then I moved back to filling the originals lol ... now I am awaiting 2 30s to stack up and reorganize.

We need a HOW TO SELL thread.

I know exactly what you should consider. It looks like you've found box already, but this is another option sometime in the future if needed. You should check out Rothwell of San Francisco. I have a three-watch box from them and it's great. Super sturdy and nice, and it'll keep your watches safe. Is it a designed one from Godard that costs thousands of dollars? No. But unless you want something that is expensive for the sake of being expensive, you don't need one of those. You can find a Rothwell watch box for much, much less. And they have a few color schemes.

Then my sons made a good choice. They chose Rothwell boxes. Thanks!

I was actually thinking about watch boxes just the other day. I am planning on making my own in 2024! Should be a fun woodworking project.

Edit: talktext fail.

"My name is Barking Mad and I am an addict"

😉

edit: this was tongue in cheek, but the reality is that is a very elegant storage solution to an amazing collection of watches.

That's great!
One Rothwell is being sent back and replaced. Faulty from the start. I think my Tawbury is a bit better in terms of construction and finish.

Gotcha, that's good to know for the future. I only own their watch roll and have had no issues, but maybe I'll look elsewhere if I ever buy a box.
