Sterile Dial 0552 from 1972 issued to Royal Navy.

 

Local pick up, Elgin Ordinance from 1944. In good condition, considering it's now 75 years old!

Nasty cracked crystal kept most away from it and I got it for a steal- smoothest hand winder I have-like silk.
I had the same problem you did with finding a decent A11. Finally broke down and bought it from a collector who specialized in them and it came fully serviced and near flawless- but I paid a premium for it. No regrets, it’s spectacular and it’s mine.

Spectacular is an appropriate word in this case. If you don't mind sharing, what did you pay? $1000? No problem if you want to keep that to yourself.

 

$375 +s&h fully restored using NOS mil stock parts. He gave me a large selection to choose from with detailed pics.
