Hi, just picked up a vintage Omega Genève. Serial number alludes to 1969 and mechanism 601. I’ve only found a couple online with a similar dial and logo. Not in the best condition and the seconds hand has some corrosion, wanted to know it it was the real deal and worth some love. Can anyone help confirm please? Much appreciated!

(I understand that this is probably an entry level model but I am a newbie)

Yes, quite genuine and looks to be in pretty good shape. These tend to wear badly since the plating is only 20 microns.

If you don't know the service history it probably needs it. Do not polish the case.

Thanks for the advice!
I’ve only given it a quick once over with renaissance wax, rookie mistake. Assuming that this is to prevent wear to the gold plate? It runs silent and holds good time, the rubber case seal was in bad shape too which is why I suspected maybe it was a fake, also no logo on the crown. It was a punt at £120 ($150) in a charity shop, no idea if that’s a good deal?

Solid buy at £120. I’d expect it to sell for £270ish on eBay.
