Obviously you can't be careful enough 馃

Paging Dr. @hoipolloi 馃榿

Might be worth moving this discussion to its own thread.
This thread is really just an archive/exhibition thread rather than a discussion thread.

Hello folks, my first post, I have owned my constellation for about two years now. I believe it is a 168 something, forgive my vagueness. The movement number is 26993980. The guy I bought it from informed me that it kept excellent time, it didn't. I bit the bullet and had it fully services by an Omega authorised service centre. I have been keeping a look out for an 18 carat gold pie pan constellation, they are very eye catching.
Hello there and welcome, beautiful watch in very nice condition - the reference number is visible in the service invoice 168.001 馃槈

Desmond has written nice essay about the more sophisticated fakes of Connies in similar configuration. This may help.

good to highlight this but Hoi posted a specific thread about really good fake gold stepped dials.

Again to follow up on @Peemacgee's post, this is a place to show and tell, not a discussion thread on how to identify fake dog leg Connies! There are plenty of other threads all over OF for this kind of info.

Arrived now. Unfortunately it doesn't work. Also I have to get used to the 34 MM.
Anyway I want to thank everyone in this forum in assisting me in getting my first vintage time piece. Hopefully is not something too expensive to fix.

Congrats with a beautiful watch. Gold cap or solid gold? Did you try to wind it, or did you shake it to start it? Sometimes the rotor bearing needs adjustment.

Hey, congrats on your purchase and wear it in good health!

If I may say so, 34mm is a great size for your wrist! It does not look small at all. 馃憤

Unless you are unlucky, it's probably just dried up inside and only needs a service.
