So here is my first post... This is my late father-in-law's Constellation, which I'm holding for my young son until he's ready to receive it.
Welcome and congratulations! BTW - forget your son Wear the Connie in good health and leave it to him in your will .... (and get it serviced if it hasn't been recently)
Thanks for the welcome sir. My mother-in-law gave it to me some years ago after sending it in for service and I've had it serviced once since. It is due for a service again within a year or so. Have to say that I do wear it a few days a week...I can't just let it sit around until my boy is ready for it.
Great to hear! I love how these important pieces get a second life and get handed down generation to generation
Nice set of Constellations ! I know you're really keen on your Nipon Connie but I would personally rank them L-R better good best Others might disagree based on the relative rarity of the Japanese model... Lovin' that gold dial

To be honest: there´s some oxidation inside. The rotor/hammer is not completely clean and the outer area under the caseback too - but the rest is ok. I think it´s better to let it as it is - like the crackeled Ω-glass and the seconds hand...
You're right, sounds like a piece of junk. If it will help you out, I'll give you a few hundred bucks for it
All of these photos has made me even more excited to own my own Constellation one day. Definitely a grail watch for me. I want a perfect example condition wise and I'm willing to wait as long as I need.
