Strap-matching is only meaningful if the straps are not original equipment. Please sir, these watches are only as Vulcain made them.

That's a cool piece Tony C. Never heard of it before. Did a search on the bay but nothing close to this beauty showed up. What size?

Thank you! It's my second, and they came in different sizes with different movements. It was a successful model line, and for good reasons. The screw-back cases were very good, the movements both excellent and aesthetically pleasing, and the dials often attractive. Below you'll see (first) the movement on this watch (33mm excluding crown), and my earlier one (35mm). In fact, I like the cal. 81 in my earlier one so much that I had a nice display back made for it!

In summary, they are excellent and underrated (and valued) watches.

My first post and my first Semaster De Ville. Here are a couple of cell phone pics. Kind of hard to capture the patina of the dial, but I love it. Currently on a matte alligator strap.
