The idea that we could stop the virus by locking down our economies was always a fools errand.
That was never the “idea,” and with all due respect is a fools strawman.
The “idea” was to slow and measure the rate at which the virus spread, and so to lower the resulting morbidities associated with the caring for those with a virus in a system of limited resources.
You can disagree with the actual “idea” all you want of course, but to disagree with not the idea is little off.
The question « did you get your shot »?
IMHO the question supposes people have options.
Except for Israel and perhaps the UK where they have been incredibly efficient at mass vaccination, perhaps Germany, the people being vaccinated right now are health care workers or people who are most at risk due to age or co morbidities.
So it’s not as if anyone can go in and get vaccinated when they choose.
I’m sure it’ll be months before I can get a vaccine, I’m not even thinking about it.
There are a lot to eligible people that are opting Not to get it.
