This jumbo 224105 sold for (only) USD 2025! Soft market, exotic location of the seller or just a poor dial? https://www.ebay.nl/itm/276001521528

I actually got this watch. To be honest, I did not expect to win the auction with such a low snipe and was surprised and even thought for a moment to cancel the purchase, as I really didn´t need another 224105...
Anyway. The watch has already arrived (second day after payment, from Israel to Prague, Czech Republic) and yes, obviously, it is far from perfect...... but not so bad afterall. Will probably need a relume of the minute hand, otherwise seems honest and original with clean movement and quite nice case. The dial is damaged/faded, but the mirror "ring" is still nicely visible.

Here some quick photos with my phone - after basic clean up of the watch case and plexi:

I like it. Maybe u can try to clean the dial a little bit.
Or is the dial as such deeply damaged?

Omega did that too on some models from 30s and 40s I think its simply for the casemaker to match case + caseback in the factory but some1 correct me if Im wrong..
I own a Omega Dennison 266 from 1956 and it has the same (last three digits).

I've just started going down the Polerouter road and am looking for opinions on this Polerouter 20366-2. It looks fine to me from my research but happy to hear expert's opinions on this. How much are these usually going for?

Interesting discussion with a C24 seller regarding this watch: https://www.chrono24.nl/universalge...mpur-prototype-40-mm-oversize--id27803182.htm

He insists that this is a protype case. Case is unmarked which makes it (IMHO) very unlikely that it is a UG case.

My thesis is that it is a movement of which the gold case was melt and a generic case was added later.

The movement is numbered and - picture is not very clear - it seems to be either 167k or 187k. In 187k I don't have any 287's which had a gold case. In 167K I have have 3. 2 ref 12512 and 1 ref 12539. All with 811k serials.

Curious to hear what the others think.
