I would vote redial, mvmt and case look good

I sort of thought so too. Something about the hour points not quite lining up right with the lines. Many thanks

I agree. Photo 6/12 shows how sloppy the hour arrow markers and minute lines were done.

not sure if I'm missing something, but I dont see an obvious redial, the numbers look pretty OK from a distance? Not sure about fonts, need better pics/closeups

Not sure if its my eyes or the photographs but I also find that dial pretty tricky. Love a Jeanneret case, obviously.

The fonts and central logos and big o’clock numbers look very good, especially at first glance. No roundly subdial lips, no roundly ‘3’s in those subdials and little excess redial lacquer visible overall on the dial. The watch looks right. But then I’m bothered by the apparent lack of any concentric rings in the subdials. One’s eyes then move to the outer tracks and they look all over place, shoddy dashes and dodgy-looking scales lying together with unusual spacing. The dial has a real over-inked look to it in many of the listing photographs but that could just be the light. Finally, one looks back at 6 o’clock and you see no ‘Swiss’ and that as a general rule is correct for Compur of this era, and so many redials have a bad ‘Swiss’ or ‘Swiss Made’ bodged in here instead.

My gut says a very old and very good partial redial. You’re all on your own with the ‘Yard’ bit.

I agree it's a tough one to call. I would need better pics to make any further progress.

Well: my original feeling was redial but after the above I'm back on the fence ;-)

Well, guess what’s now up for sale by its new owner (a dealer) on Chrono24…? I don’t know the asking price but if anyone inquires, I’d be curious to know.

This - basically very nice - 22325 Dato-Compax just sold for EUR 2.450 (excl 40(!)%fees). Wonder whether they buyer knows it is a 32mm... I assume/hope/pray for the buyer that the green spots around the 11 are on the plexi
Interesting thing is that in Sala this reference has another dial (no hooked 1 for instance) but that 2 (very) close siblings have identical dials: https://mentawatches.com/product/sold-watches/universal-geneve-dato-compax/ & https://watchcharts.com/listing/729...pax-22325-chrongraph-original-dial-steel-runs

I find the 2.450 EUR for a 22325 Dato-Compax (the photo is not very good, but it seems in quite reasonable shape) a good price, althought with 40% additional fees it starts to be a bit less cool. 😀
Regarding the dial design - I think it was quite common on Datos.

Here are two of mine left is 22246, right 22325 and two dial designs.
I think both dials (and hands) are original, despite some might argue that the dial on the left "should" have gold hands (because of mirror numbers) and the one on the right lumed hands (becaus of lumed numbers), but I have this feeling UG kind of "didn´t care about this "rule" on Dato Compaxes...:

This 22280 (https://www.ricardo.ch/de/a/universal-geneve-compax-salmon-285a-1198114350/) is a very curious one for a couple of reasons:
- They forgot the last number of the serial (but the caseback itself seems legit)
- Reference must be correct (22279 and 22285 being the reference of close serials
- Movement has the one but highest serial I have ever seen. Have only seen one other with a 300 serial
- Caliber is marked 285A (if this would have a Porsche I would have thought Austauch (exchange)

what about the redial ?

do the caseback and mid case match? The connection looks odd, perhaps the mid case is not even UG? or maybe it's the wrong caseback for that mid case?
