I was surprised to pick up this Cal 138 bumper automatic with JW Benson signed dial for only £300 on eBay.

The hands are missing their lume and I think the seconds hand may be a replacement but otherwise I think it's ok although I appreciate it's only a relatively small and simple dress watch. Did I miss something else or was it just of little interest?

Is the first one i saw without Polerouter written on dial but i see no evidence of redial. What happened? No idea.

When i receive the watch i'll try to contact UG to see if i can get an answer...

Never a dull moment with them Polerouters. Your Electric looks good, it will be interesting to hear what UG might have to say.
Also, if you have a chance let us know what your battery cover looks like; I've seen two variants so far: one where the battery is fully covered, another with only a partial cover. I do not know what explains this. All the best until next time.

I looked at that but I had a couple of concerns - nothing concrete but I'll be interested to see better photos when it arrives. On the plus side I've definitely seen other J W Benson UGs - the last one I remember was a calendar complication.

The bits that worried me were the hands which I only ever recall seeing on G-Ps (though these are probably from the era when UG were making chronographs for G-P so it might actually be another plus). I was also a bit worried about the quality of the dial printing (it looks off centre to me) and I'd be interested to see what others have to say about that.

On balance I've probably missed a bit of a bargain.

I was able to find a picture of an identical model below which has the same hands, which suggested to me that they were probably ok (lume and second hand aside).

I know what you are saying about the dial printing but again it looks similar to the one below and the handful of other JW Benson signed UG dials that you can find by searching online.

I was also concerned about the dial printing. Could it have been a very few special pieces made for J.W. Benson which would explain the more artisinal feel of it?

Or perhaps it was touched up with time. I don't know.

    Second generation Space Compax

    Sub dial hands are suspect

Correct in my eyes. I have seen late 60s and early 70s space compax and compax models with straight sub dial hands.

Thought I'd share for your interest, although I think they are asking far too much as buy it now ($USD 1.9k). Lack of movement shot does not assuage. Of interest, the item is described as a Polerouter, although it is a (quite lovely) Polarouter.

What do you guys think of this? Is this legit? 18k rose gold 35mm & original dial or very good redial? Price range?

    I'm going with not-so-good redial.

Wrong chrono graph second hand and chronograph Minute hand. Also not Sure if minute and hour hand are original, not really a good redial as well.

Trying to learn... Is it subdial at 6 you're referring to?

Not only that, but also 9 and 3 o clock, the printing isn't centered.
