You guys have problems... I just wonder

16 posts on a possible speedmaster hand swap - really?

is there any other topic more relevant?
No one inherited a cool watch this week, so I guess this is somewhat interesting...

@kov blasphemy averted...I have a short Chronostop hand.

Looks like it will stay as a boring old 145.012-67🙁

Appreciate the insight.

You can always put it on a rainbow nato to get a different feeling (or meaning) 😁

Just saw it on ebay. 😁 I thought that all those within the range were ultramans. Are you sure of yours not being originally an ultraman?
Anyone knows if non-ultramans within the range have been observed?

Very interesting to see this Ultraman was manufactured on exactly the same day as my watch..6th June 1968..

This extract is the 2nd one that I've ever ordered.. My first one was for my 105.012-66 CB.. This is also a NAAFI delivered watch.. Maybe the Omega Museum staff got things muddled up and I m missing on having an Ultraman Extract??

...so then that leads us to the next controversial question : what are the odds that you 3 blokes all got 3 'different' watches manufactured 1 day apart?! ::stirthepot:: Maybe there is something wrong somewhere...

Not quite sure I understand your point..Please explain? As I see it, there are 2 confirmed Ultramans and my NAAFI Speedy all produced within a couple of days of each other.. Nothing out of sorts there, is there??

Just kind of crazy that they ended up with everyone on here...50 years later!

As far as I know and as explained in previous posts the famous remark "fitted with orange hand" usually follows a request of the owner to omega, which lately examines the watches before adding the remark.

....and on June 5th 1968, a guy walked into the Speedmaster production area and said "Hey guys, I found this old box of orange chronograph hands in a drawer. Do you think you all can use them up or should I pitch them?"😀

There wasn't any logic in the sequence the movements were assembled into different watches - I don't see any problem for having two different watches (it's still a 145.012 BTW) being produced the same day, apart if they have the same serial number 😗

@Tri-national-man thats my point exactly 😀 Crazy odds. Apologies for being obtuse. No harm meant.
Hmm probably the odds are quite high. Assuming 145.012-67 were produced only during one year (or 2, wouldn't change much). The odds of having 2 produced the same day would be more than 1/365 (like the odds of meeting someone who was born the same day as you) if they stopped in weekends/bank holidays. If I am not missing something. Although the odds of having them now, and having them here may be lower. 😁

...So are we mildly hinting that maybe this whole Extract thing is basically a consumer con and is completely fabricated? ..That we are actually only getting the President's autograph for 120 swiss francs..?
