A few from when I bought some modern stuff...a dark time in my life when I frequented WUS. How I didn't lose my shirt on these I will never know.

I know I will catch some flak for that one ... but here you go

big ass dial with ladies watch sized time readout together with assorted complications strewn in randomly all over the real-estate, lovely blued hands competing with german words in black for attention (make sure we use lots of Umlauts, Jürgen!) - leaving behind a sea of oddly shaped sea of white negative space in the southern hemisphere that does ... nothing

wait ... we cant make the timereadout any larger because of the wedge to the right but that leaves us with a lot of space below
... what could we do?

............................................................................... lets invent a 3rd scale and put a second hand in there ...

great idea!

should we line the hub up at 6 ?

.................................................................................... no ... too conventional

but if we have it sit higher, it will really squeeze the Glashütte SA logo above

...............................................................................youre right but nobody will notice that

... and make sure we use at least 3 different types of hands ... that is like a kids-birthday-party-invitation ... the more fonts you put in there the merrier it looks

.........................................................................got it!!

*ducks-and-runs*

(sorry, never seen a "watch-within-a-watch-design" work)

Too each their own, but I personally think this is really good looking watch. I'm guessing you don't like FP Journe either.

If anyone wants to get rid of their Panoramadatum because they can no longer stand the site of it please let me know I'll give it a good home 😉

Here's one some of you might love. This one has a dial marked Hormilton. There was a time when (seemingly) these were sold by shady characters in shopping center parking lots who needed a Greyhound bus ticket in order to get "home"! There was usually a song and dance that went with the watch being offered. Sort of, "it was my uncle's watch, I dearly love it, it was very expensive, and I hate to part with it". This one is missing the seconds hand.

One isn't entirely sure how to "like" on this thread. Will his "like" indicate he agrees with the sheer ugliness involved in the photograph offered or will his "like" be construed to mean he admires the watch featured in the photograph?

This one saw me through my junior and senior years in high school, early banking career while attending school, and up to being a junior loan officer and collection manager. I must have gotten it in about 1973.

Still will run, but the day/date feature is trashed.

don't ask why, but I bought this some 20 years ago at an estate sale. The owner was a film director that traveled between LA and Paris and according to his family always wore this watch when he travelled.

Its been sitting in a safe since I bought it 🙁

just my opinion - I don't claim it has to be the universal gospel ...😉

but I always found "the next door neighbor" did a way nicer job

Perfect for steampunk cosplay! If I was a 19yr old goth kid I'd wear the hell out of that...

I was really thinking the same thing - it puts the PUNK in steampunk.

This seemed like a good idea when I bought it. It's hard as hell to read.

I have a mint Gruen Precision 7736.

All I can say is that I'm glad I paid very little for it.

The irony is that the 2 or 3 times I've worn it, I received a ton of unsolicited compliments.

It's so weird looking that I never took a picture of it. This is one I clipped off the intratubes...

Could people please stop posting pictures of watches they do not own, but find unattractive? This thread is about your own fugly watches and that is what makes it a fun read. Vent your dislike of Royal Oaks/Nomos/GO somewhere else. Or go buy one and post about it here 😀

I've been waiting for that one Jim!

What took you so long, did you have to dig it up out of the back garden?
