So I'm considering getting this. Hands look beaten up but dial patina looks sweet.

Date wheel looks patina-ed/dirty. Hows the case? Also is the bracelet and end links correct to the watch?

Appreciate any feedback! 1835-UG-A_1024x1024.jpg 1835-UG-Crown_1024x1024.jpg 1835-UG-Bracelet_1024x1024.jpg 1835-UG-caseback_1024x1024.jpg 1835-UG-movement_1024x1024.jpg

Hey
The bracelet is ok for a US model !... but typically a US version would have a 17 j movement.. from what I have observed over the years....

The bracelet has been cobbled together.

It's a JB Champion bracelet, which I think should have end links marked 55

https://omegaforums.net/threads/jb-champion-bracelet-end-links-help.68423/

But this one has GF end links. And those end links are marked UP for the Polerouter Super and not UM, which would be a much better fit for the Sub.

All that said, the watch itself looks terrific and is not crazily expensive.
Yeah. I mean if this was sold but European dealers, we would be looking at at least 10- 20% more or so. IMHO

It's still available so........... Mmmmmm still thinking about it.

I think there is one or two on eBay that’s significantly cheaper and as good condition. But Hodinkee can always command a premium.

I didn't even know this existed until now. Interesting looking, not for me though.

I think that is all too easy to say but I'm not sure I agree.

The green and blue bezel variants are probably the most desirable and I don't recall seeing anything comparable for sale at this price.

I have no affiliation with Hodinkee but I've often thought that the Polerouters that they have for sale are reasonably priced.

Bracelet is wrong. End links are incorrect for that case. Curvature and size is incompatible with case. Distance between links on bracelet is different hence bracelet sits kind of wonky. that would be enough to put me off. Head looks OK but nothing to write home about. I would a little concerned that case back looks heavily polished but seems to have retained serial and reference. I would want to carefully inspect it before making any assessment or decision ...

A friend made a similar assessment with regards to the bracelet too. Appreciate the replies all, @Mazoue interesting nonetheless.

I agree re bracelet - see my comment above.

You may have a point regarding the serial and reference numbers.

Here they are, up the right way and magnified and they don't look very convincing to be honest.

I wonder whether someone has tried to make them clearer because they had been partially removed due to polishing.

What is the comment about the blue and green bezels based on? I would love to get a red one as it is definitely my favorite. I passed on a green one a while ago since I did not love how the color went with the dial. To each their own. Good luck either way.

On seeing the magnified image, the serial number doesn't look right at all . I am at odds with the whole thing now. It is very weird. I would hazard at saying that it has been added. Space between sets of numbers are too big and never in my life have I seen a font like that one !

Surprised hodinkee has put his name on this one as he is a reputable voice and authority on horological matters and would expect him to have eyes like an hawk ...

I have no affiliation with the seller on eBay and it doesn’t come with a bracelet but it’s been sitting for months at $5575 with a best offer.

Yes, I've been aware of this one for some time too.

I suspect the damaged bezel and slightly scruffy dial/hands have held it back. It's also been polished and lost the brushed finish in places. The marks inside the case back would also be a slight concern for me.

Still a great watch and looks well priced compared with the Hodinkee example I agree, particularly in light of the case back concerns.

Since I know nothing I apologize for asking a silly question, but are the bracelets important enough to deter the purchase of a watch? OP watch looks beautiful in my very naive, uneducated and humble opinion.

PS I’d be very curious if the knowledgeable gentlemen who have chimed in would kindly post pictures from their own examples, so we can see what a good or better example should look like? Many thanks in advance

An incorrect bracelet isn't a deal breaker in general, but these bracelets are expensive and hard to find, so the incorrect bracelet changes the price equation dramatically. At least that's my take on it.

Thanks for the explanation— I wonder by a factor of how much? Are those bracelets worth several hundreds or several thousands?
As a fan of crafted leather straps, I must admit being a bit obtuse when it comes to all of the intensity about bracelets.
