Trilogy Speedmaster for Trilogy Seamaster Swap, would you?

Also I would have to match the hand lume if I used FOIS hands

I wouldn't use these hands as they did them wrong. Same with all the 'replica' speedies. Original 2915/2998s have got curved hands (with respect to the plane of the watch face) whereas the FOIS and replicas are all flat (and IMO this makes them look cheap). 60th is pretty spot on...

Judging by what I have been reading of late, I would find them at your house ... 😁

Personally, I prefer the Seamaster of the three. Having handled the Speedmaster, it's cool but doesn't have the same appeal. I've only held the Railmaster at the Boutique but want to pick one up sometime if prices continue to fall

Personally, I wouldn’t. I have the speedy and think it’s fantastic.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you want to, the deal is fair given the Speedy seems ever so slightly stronger in the secondary market currently.

I’m not sure whether this is relevant to you, but from a practical point of view I‘d go for the SM. I‘m at an age now where I want to look at my watch and tell the time without reaching for my reading glasses, hence I‘d always go for the clear, elegant dial.

I personally prefer Speedmaster for its design, size, and versatility

I would imagine there is a good reason why you chose the speedy over the others when ordering so perhaps you already know that in your heart of hearts it is the speedy you want.
Out of those two I would go for the seamaster, I like it's simple aethetic, but the pick of the bunch for me, out of all the trilogy offerings, would be the railmaster.

I would definitely trade for the Seamaster. If I rank all the Speedmasters, that one does not even make my top ten list. Heck, not even the top 25* list. On the other hand, the Seamaster would be in my top list.

* I did the top 25 list in my head with help from looking at the 60th anniversary poster on my office wall.

OMG, you're losing stock fast with me. You admit to buying and wearing an Invicta, then you admit to having a Speedmaster poster. 😵‍💫

I had some posters up on a wall once too. Farrah Fawcett, Morgan Fairchild, Cheryl Tiegs, and Heather Locklear in swim suits. Then I turned 18 and took them down. They'd be worth some money today. 😉

I have the 60th Speedy and and Seamaster and love them both. The 60th Speedy may be my favorite Speedmaster of all time, but I'm not a huge chrono fan from a practical perspective, so the SM would be my choice. It's easy to read and the timer bezel is useful. All three trilogy watches are elegant and beautiful in an understated way, so I would base my choice on practical considerations -- which watch has the features that would be most useful to you.

This came down off my bedroom wall back in 1982/83. Had a few other too, like Scorpions, Rush and Jethro Tull. Back then, a couple of my friends ripped them off the wall >> I got a haircut >> did away with the concert jersey t-shits >> bought a SWATCH. Actually had a couple of them. May need to make a post on how the The SWATCH made life so much better. 😀

Having both and originally thinking the Seamaster would get the most wrist time, I have been surprised that the Speedy actually has won that battle. They are both great, but I think now if I had to choose, would be the Speedy.

You need some thorns to appreciate the rose.

I wouldn’t although I got my SM300 first before the Speedy 60th. Love both of them and my AD has confirmed I’ll get my RM next month.

In short, I love having the Trilogy in my collection. It will be worth it.

That Swatch is so Iron Maiden-esque. 😗

I'd be delighted with any of these three but the RM is exquisite in its simplicity.... Not helpful.
SM is a slight favourite here but I wouldn't/couldn't blame you for keeping your Speedy.

Tough one but I think I would, the Seamaster was the pic of the bunch for me. Don't seem to notice many around on the secondary market when compared to the Speedmaster, whether that is a sign that they're generally better received who knows.

Good luck in your decision.
The Seamaster was more than likely purchased by the faithful who wanted a beautiful watch. The speedy was majority purchased by flippers who thought they could make a few quid

I like the thought of feeling like in 1957, with a classic dive watch on my wrist while jumping into a pool.
