...and I am sure you would be first on the list 馃槣 (it will be two-tone pink, matching the emoji on the left)

They will again have to eliminate those who look alike (see vintage racing there / Japan Racing not there) - so all the copy pasted reeditions are out - hence the poster shouldn鈥檛 change much 馃榿

Why should they care? Not a market they鈥檙e in.

Adrian is entitled for the #0000 as he has made the prototype 馃グ

I would love to wear one of these 100'000 Paris Hilton LE馃グ馃グ馃グ

For all who not has seen the new LE...it will have a teardrop second hand but psssst this information is top secret馃槈

That is absolutely ridiculous! I can鈥檛 believe my eyes. I mean how may we connect Tokyo Olympic games with Speedy Moonwatch. Unless Tokyo or Japan as a whole is just about to be relocated in the sapce continuum.
Come on that is a total disrespect to the history of the watch, Apollo programme and Omega efforts from the past. Isn鈥檛 it obvious now that Omega as a company is just looking for every kind of possibility to extract money and bump up their P&L? Does a company like that deserve all such ado?
Isn鈥檛 it time to turn it off?

Omega can make as many variants of watches as they want, the consumer and collector can decide if they want to buy It.

I don t feel that having tens of different variants of the same watch dilutes the value of the brand, I feel it offers choice, imagine we all had to drive around in black cars?
The only downside of LEs is that one might not have the funds to buy one when they come to market and miss out or potentially have to pay over the odds for one.

At this rate, I wouldn't be shocked to see a Speedmaster - Jedi series.

You are right in one aspect .... it is us who propel such kind of lack of perspective. No respect to the legacy of the Moonwatch. Might call it the Japanese Side of the Moon Watch or the Olympic side of the Moon Watch!

There were two brands for me so far with legacy that deserved my appreciation. Only one is left.

That means it's only a matter of time before I can get my hands on the Silver Snoopy, even if it has to be reincarnated in blasphemous form 馃槤

Nobody will miss out on these watches. Two are nice if the caseback was changed. And the rest will litter the AD windows for ages and probably sold with large discounts after that. Put Olympic on a watch and i will show you dust in a AD window. Making these limited was waste of time and quite frankly helps to dilute the special side of owning a limited edition as there a soooooooo many especially Speedmasters. Just my opinion

It just seems a bot lazy to me.

The MKII Rio edition was a better display from them. Wouldn't say I am disappointed but just think they whole thing cheapens the brand a bit.

I use to agree with this entirely, until Omega made limited edition near exact copies of previous limited editions. That doesn鈥檛 offer choice, it dilutes the percentage ownership of the owners of the original limited editions.

The release isn鈥檛 so bad as a capsule collection, but it鈥檚 slightly offensive to rebadge these established limited editions as a rebranded Olympic novelty set.

Yikes...

Yep, my issue with these is if they only went 14 (/13, /12) years before recycling the Apollo XI 35th, Gemini IV and Apollo XV 35th - for an LE two years before the event they commemorate, what's to stop them from re-releasing the Ultraman I'm about to buy (for $2000 more than the MSRP of a regular Speedmaster) in six years, commemorating the 2032 Olympics? Why should I spend extra on a limited edition Speedmaster if they're just going to make more of them in a few years?

how the conversation at omega headquarters about this went on... (in my mind 馃槣)
- hey, all those old speedmaster LEs are gaining value, but we are not making any money on them
- i have an idea... lets make some more
- but... isn't this gonna piss off our customers who already have them?
- hahaha... f@3$ck our customers

I consider buying a hesalite Speedy. I do not have one and it is now more rare than limited editions released by Omega.

Do i start being a hater? What a turn of events! I do not have any of these and till today I felt sorry for myself. Let me say that just a month ago i was seriously considered spending around 10 000 eur for a Gemini IV! Mere luck!
