Also, what type of strap will work best with this case and lug style?
This seller on eBay may have a few options for you. I have never tried their straps, but they have been recommended to me.

One downside of replating is that the process will fill in any fine details such as the manufacturer and case reference numbers on the inside caseback. I vaguely recall @Northernman had a watch rechromed.

@slique12 pm'd me about this piece and I told him that I was pretty sure that I had seen that exact dial in some period advertising - but I haven't been able to find it since 馃

Early Tissots are great - I've recently bought three rectangular models from the thirties for the collection.

I totally agree; these are from the 20s and 30s

I wouldn鈥檛 do anything to it except get a competent watch guy to service and clean it.

I鈥檇 also be looking for a pigskin strap for it.

Nice watch!

Finally, a dial that can accurately be called "sector"!

I had a GP Zenith chronometer replated. You can see why on the images below. .
The plaiting thickness is only some microns. No worries about details/engraving disappearing if done right.

@SeanO Do you know where I can find a vintage style pigskin open ended strap?

For better or worse I don't know, but the sector dial on this watch has already started to influence my collecting focus.

If done correctly, replating the case should preserve these details. Replating implies first to take off the old chrome and a slight polish. But if the guy knows his job, it should not remove the markings. Unless the case is very worn and needs a strong polish.

I thought you may find this interesting 馃榾
As far as I know Omega teamed up some time in the 30s.
Look at the dial on the right 馃榾
