·Hi all,
Up for sale today is a Tissot ref 6916-4 from the mid-1950s with an amazing black guilloche/chevron dial. As a vintage watch collector, I've always had a soft corner for textured dials and chevron dials are on the top of that list. A bit sadly, regardless of brand, chevron dials are far and few between and when they do show up it's often on a light dial which makes the darker chevrons that much more special in my humble opinion.
Condition: The dial is in very good condition and at certain angles in the sunlight appears to be turning tropical. The radium is present on every hour marker and on both hands, with the indices having turned a pleasant creamy color which color matches the "Automatic" script on the dial. I'll be honest, I've caught myself looking down at the watch more than I'd like to admit and I often haven't even been looking for the time😁 The case is stainless steel and measures ~35mm w/o crown. It's a "large" 35mm and wears well on the wrist. To my eyes, the case looks good and thick and has small scratches which are to be expected for a well worn 65 year old watch. No large dings or dents. If it has seen any polishing I assume it must have been pretty light. Crown is unsigned but appears original when comparing to other examples I've seen online. Some scratches on the crystal. The movement is an automatic cal 28.5R-21 in clean condition and while service history is unknown it starts immediately and runs strong.
I’m asking $995 USD for the watch and beige strap and will include Fedex shipping within CONUS. Other countries at cost. Paypal, Zelle, Transferwise or bank wire only. Watch and I are in the US and I can ship worldwide (with some exceptions).
