Thoughts on this Constellation?

Looking to pick up my first vintage piece and this one caught my eye. Seller is in Japan and is asking $800 USD.

Thoughts on picking this one up? Pretty new to this so anything will help!

This is a nice example of the slimline Constellations Omega put out in the 1960s. They are not as sought after as a standard Constellation of the same era, so they are generally cheaper than their larger equivalents. Nonetheless if you want to get into Constellations they are a nice starting point. The case on yours is slightly polished, which is standard Japanese practice, but would not bother me. You could ask for a small price reduction, but I have found Japanese dealers pretty intransigent on their prices.

I wrote the following little piece on them a while ago, which might be useful to you.

I like those. Thinnest auto omega ever made I believe. The unique font for ‘automatic’ is appealing too.

I’d take one of those over a C case Connie in a heart beat.
