Opinion on this Constellation dial

Here’s a better photo of the c case. Seems to have blistering on the dial.

I got the seller down to $800usd, thoughts on the blistering? Movement seems nice and shiny with no rubbing on the rotor.
TBH, I couldn't tolerate the dial or the case. I think that will be a very hard watch to sell.

Thanks Dan I hear you brother, my main issue is I live in Canada. It’s pretty slim pickings up here locally, and if I buy outside of country I’m hit with duties and taxes which can be another $200 on top of purchase price.

That's interesting. Based on the USMCA, I thought that there wouldn't be any customs duty for a watch you bought from the US at least. Taxes I assume would be the same as for a domestic purchase.

I’m basing this off of EBay. If I add a US watch to my cart and checkout, taxes and duties are added to the final bill. Sucks being up here.

Good evening Omega forum! Been researching and looking for the past few months and came across this listing. It’s a 561 movement, serial number shows 1962 model. Seems to pass MOY but I’m iffy on the “O” in Automatic and Chronometer, shouldn’t the chronometer O be more skinny?

Do you think it’s a redial?

I doubt that this is a redial. The burst is rough. You should check the star and hour markers using a 20X lense to see if the hour markers are fully attached to dial and is there any trace of adhesive

Thanks hant26, I just checked the inner case and it’s an HF case, I believe doglegs should be SGR? I’m starting to think this watch is put together with off parts

Please share photos of the entire watch, not just the dial. That’s needed to identify fakes nowadays.

Thanks for the reply, but I just saw close ups of the movement and there’s serious rotor rub and it’s very tired looking. Gonna pass.

Thanks again OF and happy holidays!!!

@Tomolok

Whilst you’re not going to pursue this watch, it might help others if you finish the conversation you started by posting the images you have.

E.G.
Doglegs have more than one case manufacturer and were not just made by SGR.
Not all Constellation dials have the narrower ‘O’ you refer to.

Thank you @Tomolok
Do you have any other images such as the medallion and movt with serial number?

This is all that was provided. It ended up selling last night for more than I was willing to pay, $1300usd.

Thanks
From what we can see from the additional photos, the caseback does not fit with the movt, as it would have perlaging.
It’s not a great image to assess but the caseback is a replacement at best.

The rotor has been replaced and the movt does look a bit grubby.

The 19’4xx serial does align with the lumed dial but no Ts.

The dogleg lugs and bezel are soft - I think you did right to let this one go.

Thanks peemacgee for the feedback and supporting my decision. But even as a mishmash of parts, it still sold to an unaware buyer unfortunately for $1300 (auction) in a local forum.

Just for my own knowledge, what would this be worth?

Always difficult to value a less-than-perfect piece.
Much easier to price a good watch.

Decent enough dial but the rest is sub-standard.
Certainly significantly less than $1000.
To a collector it’s only a dial and movt parts.
