Hi
The vintage Carreras have interested me for quite some time and I came across this one. It seems quite nice when I compare it to similar examples online but I might be missing something…
Any input would be appreciated 😀
Thanks!

Looks good to me. Signed Crown and Heuer-Leonidas bridge should make it quite a late serial number -- 72-77k?
Priced at a solid handful of big-ones?

Whoever took the pictures needs to de-dust the camera sensor.

Provided it checks out as good in the hand as in the photos it seems fair for a private sale. A dealer would probably list at 50% more. Movement looks clean but I would budget for a service at $500+ US, or £250-300 UK.

Looks good to me, I'd just want to make sure that stuff around the perimeter of the caseback is old rubber gasket gunk and not pitting in the metal.

Thanks, I’ll see it Wednesday!
Are there specific details I should be careful about?
The seller says it was never polished which I’m always very doubtful about…How can I see if it’s true?
Thx!

Fun fact : the serial is 73000

Thanks for the advice!
Very nice, congratulations!

Although out of focus it appears to have a Heuer signed buckle, could we have photos of the front & back?

Looks very nice, congratulations! I think what we were wondering about the buckle is, are there any markings on the underside?

Not that I can see..What could it look like?
Unmarked back makes it modern reproduction. Nothing wrong with that IMO as long as it's good quality, an original would be nicer but can you find one? One of my Carreras is on a modern buckle because I have mislaid the 1960s original buckle I took off it in 1974.

The OF sister forum at tagheuer forums has done buckles for old Heuers: start at https://tagheuerforums.com/threads/...hentic-all-questions-here-please.33953/page-6 and there's an older discussion at Chronocentric http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/heuer/index.cgi?md=read;id=26036 although sadly many of the photos are no longer online (all praise to the OF policy of hosting pictures directly so they are always available!).
